Their Secret Obsession (A Reverse Harem)

Chapter 0247

Liam POV

Smiling, I jogged back through the front door, and not for the first time, I was surprised by how extravagant the house seemed. This was our headquarters and home of the Sparrow brothers-a pack in its own right. Not that all recognised us as alphas within our family or

most social circles; we were merely seen as the cleaners-those you called when the trash or enemy needed taking out.

This worked to our advantage for now, as we had led Lottie to believe this was her one-day pack. We had thought it would be better for her, less overwhelming, and it was a plus that it made it easier for us to protect her here. The Royal pack Lottie would one day lead was far grander, and unfortunately for her and those pups she carried father deadlier than anything she had faced before. This description, though, was another burden I bore quietly.

At the bottom of the staircase, Eric, a young omega, stood waiting with the keys. His eagerness to help made me smile. His diligence at such a young age was extremely admirable. Yet I knew his mother, a formidable woman who ran our household with an iron fist, a woman who would have my hide if I let him stay up too late.

"Thank you, Eric. Now go get some sleep, or your mother will tan both our asses!" I stated, with a wink, taking the keys.

"Thank you, sir," Eric replied, his tired smile faithful as always. I wanted to ease the formality between us and tell him to just call me Liam, but old habits and formalities were hard to break, especially for him.

As I turned and headed back outside, I caught sight of Chase dramatically winding down the car window. He leaned out, his movements exaggerated and full of flair as he pressed a kiss to where Lottie had exposed her belly for him. His obsession with those babies boarded on inappropriate at times.

But I got it; we all did.

Like now, as he hung out the

window like a madman, he wasn't just performing an act of affection. he truly meant every word. I hated that it made me smile seeing him whisper sweet nothings to her pups; his voice was soft but audibly filled with excitement and love,

"Grow strong, little ones. Uncle Chase can't wait to spoil you rotten," he murmured with a grin that reached his eyes, igniting a light in Lottie's that had been dimmed by the day's stresses. A pang of jealousy surged through me. How I wished I could express my affection so freely. But my role demanded endurance and decorum.couldn't afford such displays, bound by the unspoken rules that came with being who I was in the pack hierarchy. It wasn't just about what I wanted; it was about maintaining an image, a strength that the pack

needed to see, especially in times as

turbulent as these.

I approached slowly as Chase and Adam drove off. Lottie's shoulders instantly slumped, each line of her body speaking of the burdens she carried. My heart ached for her. Wrapping an arm around her shoulders, "Fuck me." She cried out as she jumped slightly, her blonde hair bouncing in the moonlight.

"No, thanks." I smiled, trying to ease her frazzled nerves. She soon relaxed into the embrace, making me smile as we watched Chase's bloody, eccentric car speed out the gates.

"You saw?" she murmured, a tinge of embarrassment in her voice. V growled softly in my mind, disliking that she felt the need to hide her feelings.

"She should never feel that way with us," he moaned. I sighed internally; the only thing I could do to stop myself from shaking him silly.

"We haven't exactly made it easy for her, V. With all the judgments, she probably felt she couldn't talk." V's grumbling faded into a reluctant acceptance.

"We need to talk, Lottie," I said gently

as we began to walk towards the house. "I know this isn't the life you wanted asked for, but it's the one

have. You're more than just my sister you're a future leader for our people, and that comes with responsibilities." novelbin
