Chapter 432
Stepping out of Rowland Corporation, Cameron noticed the first snowflakes of the year drifting down from the sky. It was surprising, given how the weather hadn't turned that cold yet. For reasons he couldn't quite put his finger on, a wave of sadness washed over him. Despite his many talents, he felt like a misfit with nowhere to truly shine.
The Dawson family kept him at arm's length because his father favored his half-brother. The Rowland family was just as wary, fearing he might challenge Benjamin for his spot.
He'd understood these dynamics for a long time but felt like he had no choice but to walk this path.
With a sudden, bitter laugh, he gazed upward, thinking how tragic it was that he'd ended up like a parasite.
Gone were the days when he could strike out on his own.novelbin
He wandered the streets aimlessly, the snowflakes settling in his hair, turning it white. Eventually, he stumbled upon a bar he'd never been to before. After a brief moment of hesitation, he pushed open the door and stepped inside. The warmth and lively chatter inside were a stark contrast to the chilly outside world.
A friendly bar owner approached him with a smile, "What can I get you, sir?"
It was then Cameron remembered he was out of a job, his salary still sitting at Rowland Inc., and his wallet nearly empty.
He asked for the cheapest vodka, "The spicier, the better."
The owner gave him a look of mild disappointment. Such fine clothes for someone who could only afford the cheapest drink.
"Take a seat anywhere, sir," the owner said, his initial enthusiasm waning as he moved on to other patrons.
As he scanned the bar, Cameron's eyes landed on a familiar figure in the corner. He made his way over.
There sat his father, Griffin, clutching a vodka bottle, his face a deep shade of purple from drinking, shakily pouring himself another glass.
Cameron sat down across from him and just watched in silence.
When Griffin finally looked up and saw Cameron, his face showed a mix of embarrassment and discomfort.
Neither of them spoke, but the struggles they faced were reflected in each other's eyes.
"Happy now, Cameron? You've driven Dawson International to the verge of bankruptcy. Did the Rowlands reward you with a promotion or a raise?" Cameron's expression darkened as he thought back to the past year's fierce competition with Dawson International.
Back then, he was on fire, tracking their every move and crafting detailed strategies to wipe them out.
In just a year, Dawson International hadn't landed a single profitable deal. A company that can't turn a profit for a whole year would be in a nightmare. They faced layoffs, pay cuts, employee exits... even shareholders bailing, making their situation even worse.

Cameron smirked, feeling a twisted sense of pride. "Seeing you like this means my mission at Rowland Inc. was a success."
Griffin was livid. "You tore Dawson International apart, and for what Now folks are saying: Cameron's fallen so low he's working for someone else. The golden boy is now a parasite."
Cameron felt the sting of those words, knowing he'd become like a clinging vine in the end.
But pride still flickered in his eyes, and with a slegrin, he said, "I didn't join Rowland Corporation for personalgrowth. My aim was to bring down Dawson International, to topple those who rose by feeding off me Now that it's done, I have no regrets."
