Love at the Door

Chapter 27

Melina only remembered when a person was kind to her. Now that Andrew was helping her, she would remember what Andrew did for her. Naturally, she didn’t know that Andrew orchestrated this incident.

As they spoke, they heard the ambulance’s siren in the background. Melina’s face brightened. “The ambulance’s here. We can stop by the road.”

Andrew stopped the car. Melina didn’t have the leisure to care about Andrew. She quickly carried Helena

out of the car and ran to the ambulance.

She carried Helena into the ambulance as fast as she could and followed her to the hospital. There were doctors in the ambulance. Seeing Helena slowly getting better, Melina sighed in relief.

After arriving at the hospital, Melina quickly handled the admission procedures. Soon, Samuel rushed over while covered in sweat. They were allowed into the hospital ward.

Samuel, who was usually quiet, started rambling. “How could you be so careless and forget to refill your meds on time? Why are you talking about the fish stall now?

“Your health is more important than everything else. If anything happened to you, I wouldn’t know what to do with myself.”

Melina watched them by the door. She was a little envious. Not wanting to bother them, she left quietly.

Everyone had a relative they could rely on and support, but she didn’t. Melina would also feel lonely from time to time. While heading out of the hospital with her head lowered, she knocked into someone at the

entrance.

“Sorry. I’m so sorry.” Tears welled up in Melina when she hit her nose.

She covered her nose and apologized profusely. Looking up, she saw Andrew in front of her.

Andrew looked back at Melina. He thought that Melina looked lonely. It was the same type of loneliness Andrew felt–the loneliness of being all alone in the world.

But upon seeing Andrew, Melina beamed at him. Her eyes shone with tears. She looked like a lonely sunflower blooming in an empty field.

She asked cheerfully, “Mister, why are you here? Were you waiting for me?”

Melina was happy to see her husband when she was feeling lonely even if Andrew was just her husband

by name.

“Melina.” Andrew’s voice was deep. Even though all he did was call her name, it was still bewitching.

Melina found herself blushing. This was the first time Andrew called her by her name.

Andrew didn’t forget his initial objective. Pretending to be kind was a piece of cake to him.

Suddenly, he reached out to pinch Melina’s cheek. “You really are dumb. You did everything to help her, but no one even noticed you scratched your arm.”

Melina was stunned when Andrew pinched her. Why did Andrew do something so affectionate all of a sudden? Was he worried about her? Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

The blush on Melina’s face deepened. Even her neck and ears were turning red. Andrew felt like a different person today.

Instead of rebuking him, she explained obediently. “I was in too much of a hurry when I ran out, so I accidentally scratched my arm. It’s no big deal.”

Andrew let go of her cheek and said, “Get in the car.”

Melina obediently entered the car. Because Andrew was behind her, she didn’t notice that the care in his eyes had been replaced by coldness.

There wasn’t a single trace of warmth in his icy gaze. He looked like a wolf that had successfully tricked an innocent rabbit. Andrew pulled out a first aid kit from his car and helped Melina treat her wound.

It hurt when the antiseptic touched her wound, but Melina’s expression didn’t change at all. The pain was nothing to her. She had suffered through worse injuries since she was little.

“You don’t have to hold back if it hurts

“I’m not “Melina wanted to say that it didn’t hurt, but she stopped herself. How could it not hurt?
