Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1220

The air carried a scent Flora knew all too well, and a smile naturally crept onto her face. She gently closed the door, only to feel a strong chest press against her back a moment later. "Flora," a deep voice murmured in her ear.

"Connor," she replied, feeling a delightful shiver. Turning around, she wrapped her arms around his neck, her eyes twinkling with joy. Connor was clad in a black windbreaker, which only added to his commanding presence, but his gaze was tender as he looked at her. "Was it you who sent the Enforcement Division today?" Flora inquired.

"Yeah," Connor replied, his expression darkening slightly. The Schuler family had dared to send someone after Flora. Thankfully, Flora was no pushover and could handle herself. But the Schulers-they couldn't be left unchecked.

"I've already had the head of the Schuler family arrested, and as for Lillian, I've sorted her out for you."

Anyone who dared to harm Flora wouldn't escape his wrath.

"Connor, I want to check out FUND," Flora said. She needed to see who was gunning for her and was curious about Connor's territory.

"Sure, I'll take you there now," he agreed, thinking he had some business to attend to there anyway. He wrapped an arm around Flora's waist as the wind fluttered a curtain corner. And just like that, they vanished from the Gilbert estate, heading straight for FUND. Jonathan, who'd been briefed earlier, was already waiting outside. As Connor approached, Jonathan immediately stepped forward. "Boss," he greeted, sneaking a glance at Flora. This must be the boss's fiancée. She was certainly striking, but...

Jonathan, unable to resist, nodded respectfully. "Jonathan, at your service, Ms. Flora." His demeanor

was entirely out of respect for Connor, to be honest, they didn't think much of a girl from such an ordinary background. Many believed Flora wasn't a match for Connor, especially since he'd stayed in Austenberg for her all these years. It was a point of contention among them.

Flora noticed Jonathan's attitude but just arched an eyebrow and let it slide.

"Boss, I've sent everyone else away, except for Reagan, who couldn't make it back in time. The rest of the executives are already waiting in the hall," Jonathan reported.

Connor nodded, leading Flora inside with Jonathan guiding the way. The place was divided into Enforcement, Logistics, Medical, and Intelligence Divisions, much like the Empire Base, but with a more grandiose and solemn vibe. "Oh, by the way, where are Moss and Beck?" Flora suddenly remembered them. Those two were a lot more fun than the serious Jonathan.

"They're on their way," Connor reassured her. "They're wrapping up some matters on Lone Island."

"Got it," Flora replied, following Connor and Jonathan into the hall.

Inside the hall, a group of executives

was buzzing with excitement. It had been ages since they'd seen the boss in person. Any major discussions were usually conducted via video calls, which were often fraught with poor signal issues. They frequently found themselves wandering the mountains just to get a decent connection. novelbin

"I hear the boss brought that Flora with him," one executive whispered.

"Honestly, while Flora is quite the name in Austenberg, being a global champion and all, she doesn't seem to quite match up to the boss," another mused.

Their boss was a man of stature,

and if he were to settle down, it

should be with someone exceptional from the Martial World. Like Tara from the Roth family, whose

pedigree was impeccable. Sheet

a prodigy in ancient martial arts and medicine, already a prized disciple of the Medical Hall's master at such a young age.
