Alpha's Blind Luna

Chapter 51

Neither Vale or I slept the rest of the night. We must have looked like zombies coming down to breakfast but no one fucked with us. Suddenly, I felt very glad Vale was avoided. He was so numb at this point, looking like a hollow shell of himself. The Alpha didn't care but I could tell High Councilor Mark definitely gave him a few looks of confusion. Nothing was ever said out loud though.novelbin

Cracking my neck, I stretched. We needed to focus. We needed to reign in everything. We had to for the sake of the six little kids now trapped in a fucking cell.

"So where is the training grounds? I feel like beating the shit out of something." I cracked my knuckles for emphasis.

"Sorry. We don't allow outsiders to fight in our training grounds."

My brow furrowed. "Why the fuck not? Wouldn't you want to show off your might? Or learn a thing or two from wolves coming into the pack? Seems like a damn fucking shame. I wanted to beat the snot out of some pups." I laughed but holy hell did it sound hollow.

Vale looked up at me, realizing what I was doing. I saw him take a deep breath and sit up straight. "You can spar with me, my friend. I also have been banned from sparing."

I sat straighter. “Yes, my king. Whatever you would like."

The entire room shifted when I said that. It was like a mixture of stunned silence and understanding. These assholes didn't realize who the fuck they had in their presence and while Vale said he would play it down, I would not. They needed to learn some damn respect.

"Can we train in the training grounds, or is that not allowed either?"

The Alpha cleared his throat. "Sorry. The training grounds are off limits."

I snorted. "Sure. Don't want the entire pack finding out your warriors are shit anyways."

The whole table growled and I raised my eyebrow. "I laid out four of you in a blink of an eye. Apparently, one was your Beta? You probably wouldn't even be worth my time. A bunch of weak-ass..."

"Hector." Vale threw a warning at me.

I bared my neck to him. "Sorry, my king. I got caught up."

He sighed. “Try not to offend everyone at the table. It makes the fruit go sour."

"Of course, my king."

Shutting my trap, I glared at the Alpha who looked shocked still. Even the High Councilor next to him seemed shocked, which seemed odd. Taking few more bites of breakfast, I rose and rolled my shoulders. Grabbing my plate, I reached out for Vale's empty plate.

"Thanks."

“Least I can do, my King. Shall we change and meet outside of the castle in ten?"

Vale nodded and I smiled. It might help both of us to go through the motions of fighting. Vale could go all out with me and I could mostly go all out with him. He had gotten better but still, I never felt the same bitter rivalry I had with Auri. I took the pate into the kitchen, with the kitchen staff looking shocked at me. Smiling, I nodded to them and headed into the room to grab my training shorts and tank.

Opening the door, the Beta was leaning against the wall opposite of my door. My brow furrowed.

"You're putting on a show right? Following a king like that?"

My eyes widened. "Are you fucking joking right now?"

The Beta seemed stunned and I watched his shoulder slip from the wall. "N...no?"

"Is that a fucking question, Beta? 'N...n...n..no?' That's our Alpha King. You think he couldn't flatten your ass in moments, you are sorely mistaken. All the shit you've done and said to him this whole time our king has been here, will come back to bite you in the ass so hard you're going to wish for death." I slammed the door behind me and he jumped at the noise.

"But he's...."

I tsked. "He's what, Beta?"

"Young and stupid and..."

"Don't fucking finish that if you're going to insult him cause I will take your head for speaking against our Alpha King." I leaned in and whispered. "And it would be easy considering how weak you fucking are." Leaning back, I shook my head and walked down the hallway. "You're the stupid ones. All of you. Treating your king the same as you would the staff. Don't think I saw that this is the staff quarters. You will all pay for your insolence and I am happy I'm here to fucking witness it."

I didn't turn and just headed out the back door of the kitchen, giving the kitchen staff a quick wave as I walked out. A few of the woman blushed and I winked. We may need to have some friends here later so it didn't hurt to be extra friendly to the staff. Vale was waiting outside, his hands in the pockets of his shorts.

"Where do you want to spar?"

"We can just do it a little ways out. It's a big enough clearing we shouldn't bother anything too badly." For the first time, I saw Vale crack smile.

I smiled as well. "Sounds good, my liege. Lead the way."

"You going to do that this whole time?"

Nodding, I shrugged. "You know it. Maybe they will upgrade our rooms. Honestly, I don't think my back can take those beds.

"Whatever, old man. I've slept perfectly find on them."

"Vale, I'm older than your mother. Please have a little respect for my old bones."

He snorted. "Can I beat those old bones of yours?"

I laughed. "Of course not."

"Then shut up and fight me, old man."

Smiling, I nodded. "Rules?"

"No shifting. No death?"

Laughing again, I brought my hands up. “As you wish, my King."

With that, we became a blur. I let loose my full power as I threw a punch at Vale. He moved an inch as he dodged it, only to throw his own punch at me. Twirling, I threw the momentum of the punch into a roundhouse kick all while dodging his punch. My kick missed but I managed to plant my foot and get a punch to his side. Vale flinched for only a breath as he threw another punch my way. I blocked it but his foot came up and kicked my knee out, almost making me stumble.

Smiling, he had really gotten better. He no longer felt intimidated and didn't hesitate. It was precise. Movements without wasted effort. I took two steps back before dashing behind him. For a moment, it was too quick for him and I managed to land a solid kick to his lower back.

"Fuck."

I chuckled. "Watch your back, my King. You never know who might be creeping up behind you."

He shook his head, but the small smile earlier was much wider now. We continued to spar, sweat dipping down our faces. Our shirts had been discarded earlier and now we shone in the sun. It was warm and it didn't help us going full balls to the wall. Over time, we also gained an audience as well. That seemed to motivate Vale just a bit and there were a few times I saw Naresh come forward. Rydere came forward during those times, enjoying the wolf on wolf fight.

It never lasted long because they would always try to shift into our wolf forms. We were landing good hits on each other but I knew Vale was tiring more than I was. He hadn't been training the whole time he was out here and it was obvious. Whereas, I had been training with Morgan the whole time we were trying to put down some crazy vampires.

I crossed my arms over my head and shook my head. "Alright. We have been at this for a few hours. I think it's time we take a break."

Vale nodded and fell back on his ass, taking a couple deep breaths. "Fucking hell, old man. Sometimes, I wonder what it would have been like to fight you in the younger days."

Smiling, I shook my head. "Not as fun. I hadn't trained with Auri. I couldn't even last fifteen minutes against her. So you would have beaten my ass. If anything, I'm at my strongest now. Even at my age."

"How old are you?"

My eyebrow rose. "How rude are you, my King?"

He rolled his eyes. "Shit. I definitely feel better. But I think I need a nap."

"That makes two of us." Our audience was still standing outside the castle. They were too far away to make out their faces. "Shall we head in? I'd like to be nearer to my phone as we get into the afternoon."

Vale nodded and held out his hand. Rolling my eyes, I reached down and pulled him up off the ground. He hissed and I looked down at his side. His ribs were starting to turn a sickly purple color. My nose wrinkled.

"Sorry about that. It looks like I may have broken a few ribs."

"Sorry, my ass." Vale grumbled as he walked, trying not to let the pain show in his steps.

Holding back my laugher, I turned my head away from him. "Would you like me to carry you, my King?"

"Don't fucking test me, Hector. My mom doesn't love you that much. She will get over your death quickly." Whining, my lower lip trembled as it pulled into a pout. "How could you? Your mom would be so torn up."

"She had Bryan."

"You are a heartless monster, my king."

He chuckled and nodded to the other wolves who standing in our way. They moved, a mixture of being flabbergasted and actual respect. I sighed. It took them long enough. Sure, I might not be able to do anything about the Alpha or Beta's attitude but at the very least, the rest of the pack could show some respect. I had the feeling that Vale was going to do some house cleaning after the kids were saved.

We walked in, pushing each other trying to get the other one to fall from the soreness but stopped as the Alpha and High Councilor were standing outside our little dormitories.

"You were disrupting our training."

"You didn't let us train in the training grounds. How can we disrupt your training when we weren't even there?" I called back, opening up my door.

Vale already was closing his door and didn't even bother to reply.

The Alpha growled. "You know, you are on my territory because I am being nice."

I smiled. “Then next time, you can join our training. I would love to know the power that the you have as an Alpha. I'm sure you could keep up with us, right?"

He stepped back and the shift in his posture told me he absolutely couldn't. I saluted him and closed the door. They both stormed off and I quickly jumped in the shower. When I got out, Vale was laying on my bed. I sighed and pulled on some sweats and a shirt. Pulling my phone out of the drawer, I noticed three missed calls and I froze.

Hitting the missed call notification, I waited and Simon answered the phone. He looked worse than Vale and I did. It was obvious he hadn't slept either but it was more than that.

"What's going on, Danger?"

He sighed. “I wish it was good. I wish it wasn't fucking nothing..."

Vale growled and moved on the bed. I sat down on the bed next to him. “What happened?"

"We found his phone. It was broken but still working in the gutter by the street in the town close by." He ran his hands through his hair. "There was nothing of use on it but we figured that this must have been the initial scene or something happened here. Auri went door to door, checking if anyone had cameras in the area. She would take down the address and give it to Pipsqueak to get in the cameras and get the information."

"And?" Vale was impatient and I put a hand on his shoulder. He glanced at me and sighed, shoulders slumping.

Simon looked away for a moment. "At first, all we could see is Vale's car driving by and then the next camera we could get to was the car driving away. But there was too big of a gap in time between the two. Plus, Pipsqueak said the second camera, the driver wasn't Zeke."

I nodded. "Is there more?"

He looked away again and nodded. The video paused for a moment before I heard a ding on Vale's phone. Vale grabbed it and saw a video was sent

to him.

"There are two gas stations on this corner. One doesn't have cameras at all. The other gas station does, but it's literally all physical disks. So we had to go through the physical disks and scan for the information ourselves. Luckily we knew roughly the time we were looking for. We took a video of it

on the TV."

Vale played the video. It showed his BMW, pull up to the corner of the opposite side of the street. Suddenly, four black SUV's blocked both his front and back exit. Two more pulled up on their side of his car while two more blocked the entire road. At least eighteen vampires got out of the SUV's and swarmed the car. Ezekiel tried to run them over, tried to push the large SUV's out of the way but it was no use. Eventually, one of the vampires just pulled the whole door off the car.

It was impressive. Even faced with a shit ton of vampires, Ezekiel didn't stop fighting. He took down at least six of them, definitely turning a few to dust before a vampire got in a quick lucky shot. His body crumpled to the ground and Vale whimpered. My hand came up and held onto the phone so his hand could fall. I continued to watch the video as they stuffed Ezekiel into one of the SUV's and three of them took off to the right. The rest cleaned up the mess and four other vampires got into Ezekiel's car and drove off with it. Suddenly, the whole street looked like nothing had

happened.

The video stopped and I placed the phone on the bed. Our worse fears were realized. Ezekiel had been taken by a the group of vampires and if Auri's theory turned out to be true, it was most likely the BloodHunter Coven.
