Chapter 719

Chapter 719

After asking Samson and Duncan to leave, Bernard sat on the chair in the corridor outside the visitation room. He placed the laptop in his lap and began to work until the closed door swung open from inside.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

Hera had walked out with reddened eyes. She nonchalantly said to the prison guard at the door, "Thanks."

She then left right away.

Bernard noticed something was off about her expression, so he quickly put away his laptop before running after her. "Sweetie."

"Go back first. Leave me alone," Hera said before walking away with her head down.

Since she had an excellent memory, she already memorized the way while walking to the visitation room. It didn't take long for her to reach the prison entrance.

By then, Samson's car was long gone. Very few cars passed by as it was a restricted area. Even after Hera checked the ride-sharing app, no drivers were nearby to accept the job.

Since there was a park nearby, Hera walked in its direction.

Seeing how miserable she looked, Bernard had no intention of leaving her alone. He furrowed his brows while saying, "Sw"

"Stop following me!" Hera suddenly roared. She did not want to see a single Killian family member at that moment.

Bernard was upset to see how dismayed Hera was. He did not want her to continue investigating because he knew that she would be hurt after learning the truth.

He realized that Hera was willing to risk her life just to find out the truth. Bernard had compromised, but she still ended up getting hurt.

He strode over and grabbed Hera's hand before drawing her into his embrace.

"Don't touch me!" Hera struggled with all her might. She wanted to push him away, but she didn't have much strength due to her injured hand.

Bernard wrapped his arms tightly around her, refusing to let her go. "Just cry if you're upset. No matter what, I'll always be by your side.

Hera's struggles gradually weakened as Bernard held her in his arms.

The sky was rather dark, and the atmosphere seemed unusually humid. A storm seemed to be approaching.

Ever since Daphne passed away, Hera saw reality for what it truly was and rarely cried.

Whenever Hera ran into trouble, she would keep telling herself that she had to be strong. She didn't allow herself to cry since it didn't solve her problems.

But she couldn't hold it back any longer. She buried her head against Bernard's chest and cried silently before it turned into loud sobs.

Bernard felt his shirt turn damp as he patted her back to help soothe her. Iciness flashed through his eyes. He was more determined than ever to destroy the Killian family.

It was nighttime when Hera returned to the ward at Reinland Hospital. She spotted Neil waiting outside her ward in the corridor.

Since there was no sign of Bernard, Neil politely asked, "Ms. Youngworth, may I have a word with you?"

"What for?" Hera asked calmly as she pushed open the door to the ward.

"Ms. Youngworth, could you help persuade Mr. Killian to return to work at Killian Corporation's headquarters?"

Neil inquired.
