Ultimate Evolution I Became the Master of the World

Chapter 6 He Wants to Kill Me

"Alright, I'll give it a shot."

Nikolai pulled his gaze away, looking all serious. He had no other options left.

If he didn't act now, everyone here was toast.

Without wasting a second, Nikolai sprang into action. He charged out like a wild beast, his freaky body packing a punch way beyond normal folks.

With a loud crash, he busted the classroom door wide open, taking down the old man outside who was covered in corpse spots.

The old man hit the ground, limbs flailing like a stiff puppet, totally lacking the smooth moves of a living person.

Ghosts couldn't be killed.

Nikolai would never forget the words he had written himself. Even if this old man was turned into mush or burnt to ashes, he'd still come back in some freaky way.

Only a ghost could deal with another ghost.

Nikolai gritted his teeth and yelled back, "Listen, as soon as you get a chance, bolt. I'll handle this ghost."

After that, the bulging stomach under Nikolai's big trench coat wriggled in a creepy way.

A hand, or more like the outline of a hand, pushed out from under a layer of skin. This hand was grayish-blue, with sharp nails, like it was trying to tear through the stomach skin from the inside.

But the skin was tough and didn't rip. The freaky part was that the hand stretched out over six feet.

The grayish-blue monstrous hand grabbed the old man on the ground. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

The sound of flickering lights echoed suddenly. Instantly, the darkness that had swallowed the classroom vanished, and bright lights came back. The walls were still moldy, and the floor looked ready to give way, but it seemed like the disaster was dodged.

"It worked." Nikolai let out a small sigh of relief.

But then his eyes widened, and his gaunt face was covered in fear.

The old man on the ground slowly stood up, his hollow eyes moving slightly as if looking at Nikolai.

"No way, how can it still move after I've restrained it?" Nikolai immediately turned and shouted, "Go, hurry, get out while the Ghost Realm hasn't shown up yet. I'll stay here to hold off this ghost."

Nikolai's shout snapped everyone in the classroom out of it. They were all scared out of their minds, but survival instincts kicked in.

"If you wanna live, follow me." Henrik was the first to shout and then bolted towards the back door of the classroom.

They were on the fifth floor. To get out of the school, they had to go downstairs. If they were on the second or first floor, he would've jumped out the window without a second thought. But jumping from the fifth floor was basically suicide. Henrik's escape move got everyone else moving, and they instinctively followed him out of the classroom.

Michael didn't hesitate either and took off.

He had a gut feeling that Nikolai wouldn't be able to hold off the old man for long.

The already weak floor gave way under their weight, and several classmates fell through.

"David, Aria." Michael was startled and quickly dodged the collapsed area.

"I'm fine." David said, clutching his butt and gasping in pain.

Luckily, they had only fallen to the classroom below, about nine feet down, which was a safe height.

But when David turned to look at the others who had fallen, he was shocked.

One person lay on the ground, eyes wide open, blood gushing from their neck, making gurgling sounds, but he weren't dead yet. Michael saw a blood-stained steel rod piercing through his neck.

"Don't waste time, go." Michael shouted and immediately moved on.

"Can we get out of here safely?" Someone asked.

Michael felt uneasy, the image of the old man covered in corpse spots stuck in his mind.

He thought, 'If the old man was really a ghost, could Nikolai handle him? He had said that ghosts couldn't be killed. Only a ghost could deal with another ghost. Wait, could it be that Nikolai was also a ghost?' Instantly, Michael felt a cold fear wash over him.

'Have I just been listening to a ghost lecture? What the heck was happening in this world?' He was totally freaked out by his thoughts.
