Their Secret Obsession (A Reverse Harem)

Chapter 0250

Kane POV

"Okay, I have so many ideas," Connie beamed, excitedly ticking off options on her fingers: "There's the classic A-line, then maybe something with layers of tulle, or what about a sequined mermaid gown?" Her enthusiasm had made me nervous about how long we would As she nodded for the girl assisting her to follow her into the room, I held my hand up to stop the young assistant, who couldn't have been more than eighteen. She looked dead on her feet, and I could hear her stomach growling from where I sat.

be staying and what this was all going to cost.

"Have you eaten?" I questioned her, watching her face for any sign she might be lying. When she shook her head, her stomach betrayed her with another groan. "Don't lie to me," I insisted.

"She needs to lose a few pounds. Who cares," Connie scoffed nastily, grabbing the girl's arm and pulling her toward the dressing room.

"This is going to be our Luna?" Rolo asked as anger flared within me at Connie's callous remark. Fat-shaming the assistant was not only cruel but could have a lasting impact on the young girl.

"We need to intervene to teach Connie a lesson she won't soon forget." he added his temper rivalling my own.

"I agree." I concluded as I watched the curtain close. This woman was a direct representation of me right now, and I would not stand for bullying of any kind. She was old enough to know better. I had been a dick to Lottie and Lilly growing up, but I tried to reason with myself that it always came from a place of brotherly love. Something that I knew was twisted, given that Lottie was now the absolute love of my life. Regardless of my past errors, I would strive to do better to ensure that I never ignore such cruelty. That was the leader I wanted to be, the fatherly figure I needed to be for those who looked up to me and my own pups.

Stepping out of the store, I was met by the security guard whom I was also paying to keep the place open. He was a sturdy man; his uniform stretched taut over broad shoulders and a barrel chest, his expression weary but alert.novelbin

"Don't suppose you are free to help me teach my girl a lesson in manners?" I asked, and after a quick chat, he agreed to oblige me.

Back inside, five minutes later, Connie continued to ramble on, oblivious to my absence. She emerged from the dressing room in another ludicrous gown, this one a cascade of frills and rhinestones that seemed to please her. As she spun in front of the mirror, the security guard entered, carrying a tray of food he had gathered from the local shops. He set it down in front of me.

"Please join us." I waved to him as he sat picking up a protein bar, his lips pulled tight in a smile at what was coming. Connie, suddenly noticing the food, rushed over with greedy eyes. As she reached for a sandwich, I shook my head and nodded toward the assistant. "Help yourself, darling. You've more than earned it," I told her with a warm smile.

"Yeah, Emily, you have been here longer than me; you must be flagging. You need to eat." The guard offered, holding up a sandwich to the young girl, who eyed it nervously and then looked at Connie.

"Are you shitting me.. Why is she getting first dibs? Like she needs the carbs." Connie growled, her menace coming off her in waves.

"I am okay, thank you." The young girl, I now knew as Emily whispered, her eyes slightly glossed with signs of pain and tears.

"Fuck, Connie is asking for it tonight." Rolo laughed, already on board with my plan.

"Give it." Connie laughed, making pathetic grabby hands for the snack. The shock on both female's faces was enough to irritate me. Did Connie not know her place and role as Luna, to inspire and love everyone? But more worryingly, how often has this young girl been shown disrespect?

"See, she knows I am right." Connie laughed and pushed in front to grab the sandwich again, but I was quicker, snatching it from her hold and passing it to the assistant, who took it timidly.

"No." I hissed as I pinned Connie with a stern look. The anger I had held back for so long now painted my face.

"You will not eat, not until you learn to treat people with respect," I declared firmly.

"Fuck off, Kane. You can't tell me what to do." She laughed, taking the sandwich from Emily's hand and tearing it open. It took me seconds to get to my feet and seize my so-called mate. Spinning her around, I hauled her bony ass towards the fitting room. My large body covered the exit and her escape and forced her to stare at her red face in the mirrored walls meant for viewing.

"There is nothing wrong with HER; she's about the same size as MY sister and YOUR best friend," I yelled, not caring who heard. "And... darling, I'm not going to lie. You could take a page out of her book, okay? She looks amazing." I heard the soft inhale of shock from behind me, and given the look on Connie's face, so did she.

"You would prefer her over me?" Connie gasped, her eyes alight with jealousy and rage as she pointed at Emily behind me.

"Honestly, I would rather shove my cock in a badger's arse than put it near you right now." I snorted, deciding that was a better answer than throwing Emily under the bus and embarrassing her further with the attention of my crazed mate. My eyes watched Connie smugly. Because I obviously wouldn't fuck a badger, but I knew that the callous remark would hurt her.

"That's beastiality." She taunted, her way of trying to calm me down.

"And yet I am serious... And you wonder why my parents don't welcome you with open arms. You are cruel. You are going to represent our family, do you get how important that is won't have you treat people like this. I am seriously

reconsidering my choices right now." I stated. "So I suggest you apologise, get your changed and leave without any more outbursts." I proposed seriously.

"And FYI, I think you look great. Any man or woman would be lucky to have you." the guard added, a smile painting Connie's lips until she realised he was talking to the assistant, not her.

"I agree." I stated my eyes never leaving my 'mates'. Connie, livid, screamed and stormed off to the fitting room and I couldn't help but chuckle as she pulled the curtian dramatically behind her. Left in peace, I sat down next to the assistant.

"Sorry about that," I muttered, exhausted as we started eating. No one should make you feel less than perfect just the way you are." The assistant smiled, her earlier weariness replaced with a glimmer of gratitude.

"Thank you, but it's okay; girls like me are used to it." she muttered, her voice soft yet sincere.

BUT

"Well, not while I am around. You deserve better. Remember that." I replied with a firm nod. As we ate, I felt a small sense of victory, not just in standing up to Connie's toxic behaviour but making a difference, however small, in someone else's day. Moments like these reminded me of the kind of leader wanted to be-one who stands up for others, no matter the personal cost.
