“That mutt.” James Waititi hissed, reaching the hotel where they had hidden. Apparently, Calvin knew where they were staying. “He not just knows about us, but he is also keeping an eye on us,” he added, tossing his phone away. “What now, sister?” He asked, looking at her cousin, who looked extremely angry but was thinking something at the same time.
“Tess? Did you hear me?” He checked on her again.
“Have you heard that you do not insult the mouth of the crocodile while your foot is still in the water? I’m not very pleased to admit this, James, but right now, that mutt is that crocodile in this case.” She said, accepting the defeat because that was the bitter truth.
All Tessa Bale was thinking was how Ethlyn entered their land, killed her son, and then that stupid Alpha was supporting her. Why? Because she was the mother of his pup.
She wasn’t looking at the part about how mercilessly she had killed those innocent seven pups. She wanted revenge, but her hands were tight, and she knew if she would do anything against them, then she, along with all her family members, would be five feet under the ground.
So, it would be better if she would take a few steps back for now.
“Does that mean that we will leave him or his pack members just like that? Those dogs killed 80% of our members, and those who are left are either mostly women or kids.”
“Then we have to wait until those kids would be ready to avenge the death of their family members. Let’s poison their mind from now onwards so that when they would grow up with hatred in their heart and the thought of killing those mutts no matter what.”
“That will take years.” James Waititi pointed out in frustration.
“Rome wasn’t built in a day either. But they were laying bricks every hour. You don’t have to build everything you want today; just lay a brick, James. I hope you are getting what I’m trying to explain.” Tessa said, folding her arms around her chest in determination.
“Yes, I get it.”
‘I will be back, Calvin Haysbert. I will be back when you will think that all your problems have been solved. I will be back at that moment.’ Tessa Bale talked with herself. At that moment, she didn’t have any other choice other than to wait until she would have the upper hand.

[A/N: The part of hunters in this story ends here. Their part will continue further in the story of Roselet and Hunter; I’m sure a lot of readers would have guessed that part already. And no, I’m not going to write Roselet right away. I will finish the story of all the elders first. That’s the most asked question from the readers.]

“Don’t you think that you shouldn’t have let them go?” Zordan asked when he heard that Calvin just scared those hunters, nothing else.
“What else do you want me to do, Zordy? Hmm. To kill everyone except the pups of those hunters? Do you want me to make those pups orphans? I can’t do that.” Calvin said, shaking his head. “That would be so cruel. I have just warned them so that it would be now in their hand how they’re going to shape their future.”
“Ah. I can already see that the pups whom you’re leaving alive just because they’re too young will be the ones who will try to kill us tomorrow.” Zordan sighed.
“We will be prepared for that then. And I promise that I wouldn’t mind killing those pups when they would grow older. We are enemies, and this enmity won’t end ever… ever… ever… because the leader of hunters is not interested in doing that.” Calvin said, shaking his head.
“What if the next leader would want to end this all mess?” Zordan questioned.
“Anyone raised by that woman couldn’t be less evil than Tessa Bale. She killed those innocent pups mercilessly for nothing. Rose will be the next leader of the pack, so I’ll make sure that she will be ready to cut the head of the next leader of the hunters when the time comes.”

Nathan was watching pups playing together on the ground, running from here and there. He couldn’t help but smile looking at them. He was planning to leave in the morning itself, but Sophia Haysbert suggested staying in the pack for a day for some rest because he had covered a journey of near about eight hours to reach here.
So, he was practically free in Calvin’s pack. That was why he was sitting on the ground and watching pups playing.
“Hey!!” He raised his head and saw Tiara Haysbert. “Mom send this for you.” Saying this, she had a cup of coffee with him.
“Thanks.” He said, taking it from her. Tiara sat beside him with her cup of coffee. “So, what are you celebrating tonight? Mrs. Haysbert said that she is throwing a small dinner tonight.” He asked, sipping his coffee.
“There are practically three things to celebrate,” Tiara replied. “First, Calvin and Ethlyn are finally not fighting,” Hearing this, Nathan chuckled. “Second that we found the gender of Lee’s pup. She is going to have a boy.”
“That’s great.”
“But dad is blaming Theodore that he didn’t try harder. Otherwise, Lee would have been pregnant with twins.” Tiara chuckled.
“But…”
“I know, that’s stupid. But that’s dad. He wants a lot of grandchildren.” Tiara said, cutting him in between. “And third is Ethlyn’s pregnancy, but she doesn’t look very much happy with that news. Let’s see what the couples decide.”
“Hmm.” He nodded his head while looking at two boys of around four to five years and a toddler. The older boy was helping his younger brother to walk.
“I think you should also think of moving on,” Tiara spoke, watching where Nathan was looking. “If you’re not planning to stay alone or are married to your work.”
“No one wants to stay alone. At least, I’m not one of them.” Nathan replied, looking at Tiara. “But at the same, I’m not ready for any woman.”
“That I can see already. You’re interested in pups, aren’t you?” Tiara asked. “I came to know about your problem. I mean, I heard how you had accused her that the pup in her womb wasn’t yours and the also fact that you couldn’t become a father.”
“You can go for adoption if you want,” Tiara suggested. “And the best part is the pups you’re looking at orphans.”
“What?” Nathan finally turned his head toward Tiara in shock.
“They are Damian’s pups. Both Damian and his mate couldn’t make it to the war. I don’t know whether you know him or not, but he was the delta of the pack.”
“I… I knew him, not personally, but he came to my pack with Rose and Zordan before.” Nathan spoke and felt bad for those pups. He watched the younger one walking slowly toward his older brother. But he fell down and started crying. “Excuse me!!” he excused himself from there and reached near them, especially near the one who was crying.

A moment later!!
Ethlyn walked out of the pack house to get Roselet because she had been playing for hours now. And that was when her eyes landed on Nathan, who was encouraging a toddler to walk with a boy of Roselet’s age. They were hooting, cheering, and clapping together while there was a big smile on that toddler’s face. He took a couple of steps and was about to fall when Nathan caught him and carried him in his arms, both laughing and enjoying. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
Nathan leaned and then carried the older pup as well after a few seconds in his other arms.
She smiled, looking at this. She hadn’t seen Nathan genuinely happy for a while; either he used to keep himself busy with work or overthinking things that happened in the past.
‘I missed these moments with Roselet. Maybe this is my chance to enjoy those moments with this pup?’ She thought mentally and kept her hand on her stomach.

A/N: A couple of you recognized Samuel as Charlotte’s partner. I don’t know when I will resume that story. As per my plan, the next story will be of Liara, then Tiara, then Colton, then Santino, then Cornell’s series (3 stories are pending out of 6.) Then Weasley’s series.
Well, my mind is packed till 2023 end, I guess.
