Chapter 30: 30
Chapter 30: 30
“ I love, love your mansion. It's beautiful. I am so proud of you Jackie. You deserve the best." Jess said
through the phone as she face-timed her twin.
“Thank you, Jessy, you've been my number one fan. Thanks for all the words of encouragement. How's
work at the salon coming up by the way?" She inquired
“It's going on good, the customers love our services and I'm getting good daily grades for my finals.
Each day my assessors come around, I get good grades that are going to accumulate to my final
grade. I'm hoping for a better grade though." She told.
“You will, you're one brilliant girl. Go for gold and get a man while you're at it." She teased.
“Well, I've been trying to get closer to Miguel, he's a nice man but he's closed himself and his heart to
love due to the loss of his wife." She explained.
“You need to make him know about your feelings, Jess. You need to know his stand whether he feels
the same and he's scared to put his feelings out there, or he doesn't feel the same way." She advised.
“It's easy to say for you," she sighed.
“You will be fine, just be you and he would come around. I gotta go. See you later." Jackie dropped the
call.
“You girls look beautiful." Trudy gushed at her granddaughter and her friend.
“Thanks, grams." Amelia hugged her.
“Have fun, but stay safe girls." she winked at them as they headed out the door. Trudy smiled at their
retreating figures. She was proud of her granddaughter and how smart and fast she was growing up.
She's going to be fine. She assured herself dashing off to the kitchen.
Rita drove to the party blasting music in her car and singing along with Amelia. Mathew had wanted to
pick her up, but she insisted she came with Amelia.
Lauren sat fidgetting with her fingers uncomfortably. Keane had dashed out to only God knows where
leaving her all by herself. She stood up from the seat and headed out just to clear her head. The whole
fake boyfriend-girlfriend thing was taking a toll on her.
“Lauren!" Rita called as she lifted her head.
“Hey, I didn't think you guys would make it here." she released a breath she didn't notice she was
holding.
Amelia hugged her friend making her feel better than she was.
“Thank you, I was real tensed," she admitted.
“Where did he go?" Amelia asked.
“I-I-I don't know Melia, he said he was gonna come back, it's been half an hour and yet no sign of him."
she panicked.
“Relax Lauren," Rita chimed in.
“I shouldn't have agreed to this in the first place." she voiced out as Amelia's gaze was focused on
something else, she was too late to stop Rita.
Mathew was kissing his ex-girlfriend out in the open without no shame, while Cody and Jack stood
beside him smirking.
“Rita wait!" Lauren called after her.
“Please don't look back Lauren, don't," Amelia warned.
“W--W--" she turned to see Keane doing the same thing, with the one bitch she hated the most.
It could have been anyone else, why her! she internally screamed as Cody and Jack laughed at them.
“Seriously? Y'all gonna laugh? All you can do is to laugh? I expected better than you. But I was wrong. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
I thought it was just a phase that would pass, but I realised that this, is the true you. You pretended to
be our friends, for God knows how long. Just for what clout? Fame? How pathetic. To think I ---" she
stopped before she said further.
“Enough of the trash Amelia, just enough. Wake up and smell the coffee no one likes you and no one
ever will. You are just a charity case. Be thankful to your grandma for saving you from abuse. Just
scram!" Cody added as she walked over to Rita's car with her friends.
“Amelia, ---"
“Let's go home and watch Netflix and chill just like we were supposed to, please." her voice broke at
the end as they sat in the car and Rita drove off.
“Congratulations on your new opening." Freya hugged Zed.
“Thank you," he smiled at her. Their friendship had been going on pretty well and they had learned
more about each other. Zed was beginning to see her in a different light. And Freya, her love for him
just kept growing stronger. She had promised herself never to let it show or tell him. If he was ready he
would tell her how he felt.
“Thanks, hun." he smiled at her.
“You got a boss for the café?" she asked sitting at a table.
“Oh yeah, he's doing a great job there," he admitted setting a plate of vegetable stir fry and a glass of
wine before her.
“Thanks, it's nice to see you doing something you love." she genuinely told.
“ Enjoy your meal Freya, lemme attend to the rest of the people, I'd be right back, don't go anywhere,"
he instructed as he went about his duties.
Noah walked into the kitchen to make himself breakfast. He was still not happy at the way Soraya
talked to her maid.
Money can make people proud, hmph. He murmured to himself as Soraya joined him in the kitchen.
She hugged him from behind running her hands over his arbs. He carefully removed her hands from
him as he continued making his food.
“You're still mad?" she inquired from him. But he didn't answer her.
“Noah, I am talking to you?" she asked again but no response. She nodded and headed up the stairs to
her room, banging the door behind her.
Aren't you taking this too far?
She's apologized already, time to let go. His conscience pricked.
“I know she is, but she's gonna have to learn things the hard way." He smirked serving himself with
breakfast.
“ Ginny should stop being a bitch to Georgia, it's getting annoying now." Lauren voiced out.
“Well, she actually is Georgia when she was younger." Amelia chimed in.
“You know we're definitely going to talk about this right? I can feel the tension in the air. Let's just let it
out of our chests, we would feel better." Rita told ignoring Mathew's call for the 100th time.
“She's right, we have to." Amelia agreed.
“I thought Keane and I got something special, yeah we weren't a real couple but I was falling for the
bad guy, getting your heart broken sucks." Lauren sighed.
“Of course it does, at least you weren't led on, only to get your heart shattered. Maybe we weren't
made for love." Rita confessed.
“ Try getting betrayed by someone you loved, just because he chose fame over the wonderful
friendship you both shared. The funny thing was he didn't even care, he happily spilt everything. Now I
am going to be the girl everyone sends pity looks to. Way to go." she drily laughed.
