The Millionaire And His Billionaire Ex-Wife

Chapter 307

Chapter 307

Grace: “???”

She was completely dumbfounded by that statement, almost choking on her own saliva! What kind of bizarre thought process was this?

And didn’t she just tell him last night that she wasn’t the kind of woman with a wandering heart? Did he forget so quickly? Or did he never believe in her in the first place?

With a fiery temper, she was about to forcefully pry his arms open and give him a proper ideological education. But then her eyes caught sight of his curled–up posture.

Last night, she sneaked into his bedroom from this room. She turned on the light and found him. hiding in the darkness, huddled near the floor and the door.

As someone who had studied psychological theories, she knew very well that this was a manifestation of extreme anxiety and a severe lack of security.

Her heart ached suddenly.

Since Eder fell ill under the torment of physical and mental suffering, it seemed he had developed psychological issues.

In front of her, he became sensitive and insecure. Although he was clearly afraid of losing her, he also felt unworthy of having her. His inner conflicts and struggles were constant.

During this time, Grace found it increasingly difficult to recall what he used to be like.

The Eder from the past was aloof and indifferent, always towering above others with arrogance. In the business world, he was a decisive and ruthless, cold–blooded CEO.

Such an incredibly noble man, but in front of her, he had humbled himself to the dust.

Grace’s chest felt as if it had been struck by a heavy hammer, making it almost impossible for her to breathe. She calmed her emotions and lay down behind him, her arms tightly wrapped around him. In a gentle voice, she whispered into his ear

“You’re the little puppy, and the big wolf dog too. For the rest of my life, I only want you.”

The man being held by her gradually relaxed his tense muscles. Ile moved his arm away, revealing his incredibly handsome face.

Uncertainly, he asked, “Really?” Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

Grace held him even tighter, her chin resting on his shoulder from behind, gently leaning her head against his, their cheeks touching as they felt love for each other.

“Whenever you hesitate, waver, or feel uncertain, you can always ask me. My answer will never change,” she softly reassured him with the utmost patience.

Grace’s words calmed Eder’s restless heart to a great extent.

“Grace, thank you.”

Grace smiled, gently reminding him, “We’re a couple, lovers, each other’s only ones. We’re the engaged couple known to the whole nation. You don’t need to thank me.”

Eder turned around and nestled in her embrace, feeling content.

After lying in bed for a while, the two of them went to the kitchen together to continue cooking lunch.

Eder stir–fried the dishes while Grace handled the seasoning, with a smooth division of labor. joyfully engaging in the most ordinary and everyday tasks.

They woke up late, nearing noon. Grace had decided not to go to work, taking half a day off to spend time with Eder.

The next day.

They finished breakfast together.

While Grace ate, she checked the hot search rankings on her phone. Suddenly, she came across a hot search topic announcing the Grammer family’s bankruptcy.

Feeling curious, she clicked on the news to read more.

Although the Grammer family couldn’t compare to the prestigious backgrounds and wealth of the Smith. Grant, and Knight families, they were still a prominent and influential household. They may not be on the same level as the other aristocratic families, but they had deep roots and significant business holdings.

While she anticipated this would be an epic disaster for them, she didn’t expect the Grammer Group. to be declared bankrupt and liquidated in just a few days.

She lifted her gaze and glanced at Eder, who was attentively having breakfast. She handed him her phone and asked, “Big brother Eder, this is probably what you’re doing, right?”

Eder didn’t even raise an eyebrow. “The Grammer family brought this upon themselves,”

Grace nodded and added, “Indeed, they brought it to their own downfall.”

The atmosphere between the two remained harmonious as they continued their meal Midway through. Eder’s phone received a message notification. He glanced at it and saw that it was from Eric.

Then he looked at Grace, who was still completely absorbed in reading the hot search topics, oblivious to his phone’s message.

“Grace, besides the bankruptcy of the group, the bank will most likely visit the Grammer family villa today to assess property rights. Do you want to go and see the excitement?”

Grace raised an eyebrow and gave him a strange look. “In your eyes, do I look like someone who would kick someone when they’re down?”

He smirked. Though he didn’t confirm it, he also didn’t deny it. The implications were clear. He opened his phone and pushed it toward Grace.

Previously, he had asked Eric to gather some incriminating information on Sarah Grammer from the dark web. As expected, when there was a high price, someone bold enough would always take

the risk.

Eric had compiled all the evidence and sent an electronic copy to Eder’s phone.

“Take a look at this. Don’t you want her to get what she deserves?”

Grace looked at the evidence on his phone with a smile on her face. “I wouldn’t call it kicking someone when they’re down, but I can certainly add a few more blows! I’ll go and see the excitement later!”

She had some business to attend to before sending Sarah to prison, and she wanted to clarify a few things.

After finishing their meal, she quickly tidied up and headed out.

Eder stood in the garden, watching her leave. For the first time, he didn’t insist on accompanying her.

Once Grace was gone, his affectionate smile turned icy. Eric had taken a detour through a small alleyway to avoid encountering Grace.

“Boss, we captured Nick late last night. He’s currently placed in a secluded area. Do you want to go and see him?” Eric asked.

Eder nodded. “We’ll leave in half an hour.”

Half an hour later, Eric drove the car, and they quickly arrived at the secluded area. Nick was being held in a secret interrogation room in a small villa.

When Eder arrived. Nick was bound to a wooden stake, his head hanging down, unconscious. Eric splashed a bowl of cold water on his face, abruptly waking him up.

As his vision gradually cleared, Nick saw the man sitting across from him, exuding an air of nobility and disdain, his face frozen with extreme disillusionment.

“Oh. it’s quite an honor to be personally apprehended by the Eder of the National Security Bureau twice.” Nick sneered.

Eder remained expressionless, not interested in listening to his banter, and came straight to the point. “Do you know where the antidote to the virus inside me is?”

Nick’s phoenix eyes slightly widened. “It seems that little sister Grace has already told you,” he said, deciding not to conceal it. “Yes, I know. I’ve known from the very beginning.”

Eder asked. “So back then at the Colorful World Bar, you actually knew my identity and deliberately targeted me?”

Nick laughed. “Not exactly. Who could have guessed that His Lordship would stoop down and become an ordinary CEO in Frant City? When it comes to hiding, it can only be attributed to His Lordship.”

Eder remained expressionless, but his thoughts were clear. “So it was all for Grace. You planned to agree to cooperate with Logan ith and Lincoln Smith while pretending to be a good person by

offering the antidote, making Grace grateful to you.”

Nick laughed even louder, morking, “Is Itis Lordship the worm in my belly? To think that you could accurately analyze my thought process at that time?”

Just as he finished speaking. Eder’s forehead wrinkled, and coldness filled the air.

his teeth and groaned, a metallic taste filling his throat as blood trickled down from th of his

Eric understood and immediately took a stick, striking Nick’s abdomen twice with force. Nick gritted mouth.

Nick’s deep blue phoenix eyes showed pain.

Eder poured himself a cup of tea, sipped it slowly, and leisurely enjoyed Nick’s expression. He added, “You thought you had planned everything well, but who knew I would become a variable? You planned to take a gamble, to outwit me and get rid of me.”

“Now that you’ve guessed it, why bother asking me?” Eder poured a second cup of tea.

“What kind of deal did you make with Grace?” he asked.
