The Mafia Bride (Katrina and Silas)

Chapter 106

Katrina's POV

I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. It was like this mosquito that was constantly singing in your ears and each time you try to slap it off, it doesn't end well.C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.

Silas had been distant since our argument, he claimed to be busy but at times it felt as if he was just avoiding me. I told myself it was better this way. At least he wasn't yelling my head off But the silence felt harsher than his words

ever

did.

The one time I saw him in the hallway, he nodded his head at me and walked off.

What kind of greeting was that? Why couldn't he grab my neck and pin me to the wall? What happened to playing with me with his fingers?

Maria had the nerves to mock me and say they were fixing the mess I made.

I sat by the window in my room, staring out at the darkness.

There was currently no light turned on in the estate for some reason, maybe the lights went out. But it seemed to calm something in me.

A knock at the door startled me and I turned towards the door immediately. Before I could respond, Silas walked in, his phone clutched tightly in his hand.

"What if I was naked?" I screeched at him, wrapping my arms around myself. His eyes flickered to my chest and back to my face, a brow coming up. "This isn't the time to joke around Katrina," Silas said.

His expression was unreadable, but there was something in his eyes that made my breath hitch.

"What's wrong?" I asked, standing and crossing over to where he stood.

He came to see me so late and he clearly didn't want my clothes off, so it seems that something had happened.

After a few minutes he remained quiet, I started to get worried.

"Silas?" I called out, holding his arm. His eyes had followed my every movement as I crossed the room so I knew he heard me calling.

But he didn't answer right away. Instead, he set his phone on the table and tapped the screen, My eyes instantly fell on his screen just as a video began to play. What was this?

I looked at Silas and he nodded at the phone with his head. He wanted me to watch it.

My eyes

focused on the screen as I waited for it to play out.

I didn't understand at first. The camera was shaky, the lighting dim. Then the frame steadied, and my heart stopped.

Ethan.

He was alive. But how did that happen? I had stabbed him, I watched him bleed out. There was no way he would still be alive.

Chapter 106.

But yet there he was staring at me and very much alive..

His face was pale, a cut trailing down his cheek, but his eyes were sharp, burning with a twisted kind of glee.

"Are you sure this video wasn't made before and now they use if against us?" I asked Silas and he stared down at me wordlessly

"Focus Katrina," he growled and I turned my attention back to the phone. It was just so hard to believe he was alive when tje knife I used to stab him was poisoned. And even though the knife wasn't poisoned, I had watched him bleed.

But as I stared at Sila' screen, I didn't know what to think,

"Hello, Silas," Ethan said, his voice casual, almost mocking. "And hello to your little protégé. Bet you didn't think I'd make it out, did you? Pity."

My blood ran cold as I stared at the screen, my heart pounding in my chest.

He really did make it out But how did that happen?

Ethan's grin widened as if he could see me through the camera. You should've finished the job, Katrina. But don't worry. I'll finish what you started. Soon." The screen went black, pulling my room into darkness.

couldn't breathe. My legs felt like they might give out from under me and my heart raced in my chest.

"He's alive," I whispered, more to myself than Silas. "How is he alive?"

It felt almost impossible...

Silas didn't look at me. His jaw was clenched, his fists tight at his sides. When he finally spoke, his voice was really cold.

I could tell that he was upset but I couldn't tell if it was me or Silas his

"It doesn't matter how Ethan made it alive when you raced out with bloodstained clothes. What matters is what he'll do next."

"And no matter what it was, we need to somehow get rid of rhat mad."

I turned to him, panic clawing at my chest. "What do we do? What if="

"Enough," he snapped, his gaze cutting into me. "You don't need to know everything. You just need to stay alive. I'd deal with

it."

It was just like before and I knew he was only upset cause I sabotaged an important job.

Before I could argue, his phone buzzed again. This time, a message flashed across the screen. "Tick tock, Silas. I'm closer than you think."

Silas's face darkened, his shoulders tense as he pocketed the phone.

Ethan was going to be a problem and I knew it. And Silas wasn't going to say anything about that.

I has caused the mess and now he was going to fix it.

"Go to bed, Katrina." His voice was calm, too calm. "I'll handle it

In other words, he didn't want me poking my nose in any of his Business, especially not this one.

I was expected to sit and wait for everything to be fine.

But I knew better. I wasn't safe. Not anymore.

And Ethan was coming.

I didn't know just how dangerous he was, but I knew I just had to watch my back.
