Taming The CEO The Escaping Wife

Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Elgin knew Hawley’s little game too well. He knew that Letitia had no backings, and she could be a tool for passing on the family name, nothing more.

Letitia was taken aback and asked, “Did you agree?”

“What a joke,” Elgin snorted. “You’re not worthy of bearing my children.”

She breathed a sigh of relief. She was already pregnant, how could she possibly get pregnant again?

“I get it,” Letitia nodded. “I’ll play along, and not give your grandpa any reason to be suspicious.”

Seeing her look so chill about it, Elgin was irked on the inside.

“Are you dumb or something, Letitia?” he closed in on her, pinning her against the wall, “You should be dying to have my

baby.”

She immediately shook her head, “No, I don’t.

“Ever thought that maybe, just maybe, I’d treat you a bit better for the kid’s sake? Maybe your dad in jail and your sick mom could bask in their grandchild’s glow?”

Letitia met Elgin’s gaze. It sounded pretty tempting.

A few seconds later, she shook her head with a bitter smile, “No chance. Elgin, with your tactics, if I had your baby, you’d just take the kid for yourself, sever all ties with the Sanders family, and he’d never even know who his mom is!”

Letitia was smart, and she knew Elgin well.

Elgin was even more annoyed, having his thoughts read like an open book. He grabbed her chin, looking down at her rosy lips, his irritation grew as he leaned in and just went for it.

His kiss was almost like a bite, the pain making Letitia gasp for air.

She tried to pull back, but Elgin had a firm grip on the back of her head.

“Even if I did fuck you,” Elgin said, “I’d be watching you pop birth control pills. Got it?”

He turned and strode into the bathroom, turning on the cold shower. Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

Every time he kissed Letitia, he got aroused. Damn it!

Now with grandpa’s spy around and Letitia having to share a room with him, he was scared he’d lose control one day!

After his shower, Letitia had already set up her bed on the floor.

The air was filled with a faint scent of sandalwood.

“I lit some scented candles, Letitia said. “It’s calming and helps with sleep. Hope it’s okay with you.”

He didn’t say a word, just dropped his towel around his waist onto a chair.

“Ah!” Letitia quickly covered her eyes. Good thing she was quick; a second later and she would’ve seen his naked body…

Elgin lay down in bed, eyes closed. The scent of the candles was soothing, making him drowsy but somehow he just couldn’t fall asleep.

Hearing Elgin toss and turn in bed, Letitia whispered, “The scented candle works better with a massage, you know.”

Two seconds later, Elgin’s voice came, “Get up here.”

Letitia sat up, crawled onto the bed, and gently laid Elgin’s head on her lap.

Her fingertips landed on his temples, slowly massaging them.

Huh, Elgin let out a cold laugh, “You had all this planned out, didn’t you?”

admitted

“Trying to butter me up? You want that emerald bracelet?”

“Yes.”

Elgin’s eyes were closed, his nose looking softer in the light, but his words were still ice cold, “Depends on your performance.”

Five minutes later, Elgin was asleep, and Letitia stopped massaging.

At this moment, she was the closest person to him, just the two of them in the room.

Letitia hated him; he had completely destroyed her life. If she killed him now… she totally could!

Letitia stared at the spot over Elgin’s heart, thinking one stab and it’d all be over.

An eye for an eye.

Her hand moved as if possessed, resting on his heart, feeling the strong beats.

A flash of light passed the window, the sound of patrolling security guards fading away.

Letitia’s sanity snapped back She murmured, “No, I can’t be impulsive… I still have my child, my parents…”

If Elgin died, the Ramirez family would never let her parents off the hook!

Suppressing the impulse to kill him, Letitia finally pulled the blanket over Elgin and got off the bed.

She reminded herself to keep her impulsiveness in check – it was nothing short of a devil’s temptation. The best way

out was to uncover the truth and clear her dad’s name!

That night was the best sleep Elgin had in years.

So when he woke up feeling refreshed, his mood was significantly better, even his expression seemed gentler.

Letitia thought, this trick really works, and she gotta thank Samson for the idea later!

The moment Letitia got to the office, her phone started blowing up with dings, she received over twenty messages.

Elgin glanced at her, “Who’s that?”

Letitia showed him her screen, “It’s from Shela.”

She saw Shela had sent a bunch of ring pics and a string of voice messages-

[Hey, you see this? I like this style. The diamond’s gotta be big and pure, even better if it’s pink or some other color!]

[If there’s no pink diamond, then there should be other colored gems around it.]

[And the shape, I want a heart. No copycats, I want it one-of-a-kind, the only one in the world!]

Letitia scrolled through the pics, muttering. Just as I thought, tacky and flashy taste.”

She replied to Shela while asking Elgin, “You sure… I should do everything Shela wants?”

“Do what she wants.”

“You’re so nice to her,” Letitia smirked, “Did she save your life or something? You owe her one?”

Elgin’s gaze swept over her coldly.

She shrugged, “Just kidding”

All you need to know is, you’ll never be in her league.”

“OK”

Letitia replied to Shela with that same “OK”

Seeing all the messages she sent and getting just an “OK” in return, Shela was fuming at home, “She’s brushing me cff! If that ring isn’t perfect, I swear I’ll tear her to pieces!”

calm her down. “Alright alright let it out Even if it’s good youngn find carnethina to nitnick shi

“Of course, Shela said, ‘She’s Mrs. Ramirez now, but she’s gotta design my wedding ring. She won’t have an easy time

either!

“That’s all small fry. Shela, her being pregnant, now that’s a real pickle.”

“Don’t even get me started, Dad. I was this close to making her have a miscarriage last time, but then… then Mr. Ramirez showed up way too soon!” Shela was fuming about this, tossing all the throw pillows from the couch onto the

floor in a huff.

Letitia got away that time, and to top it off, Mr. Ramirez got mad at her. Thank goodness she groveled and begged to smooth things over

“Shela, when dealing with Letitia, you can’t be too obvious,” Mark advised. “Especially with her pregnancy, since no one’s supposed to know. We need to quietly make the baby disappear!”
