Stuck In The Wrong Marriage

Chapter 42

Happy reading….

Days passed, Elena had yet to hear from Jayden. In fact she knew where the man was now.

Where else if not at Hera’s house. The woman she hated so much. But Elena didn’t want to add to her pain by coming there and seeing Jayden with Hera. At least if she didn’t see it in person Elena could think they weren’t together.

Very stupid isn’t it?

Yes. Elena was really stupid for loving Jayden too much. Until she could no longer think properly.

A few days later Elena got word that Jayden’s father had been hospitalized. It was then that Elena finally couldn’t hold herself back anymore. She was determined to come to the hospital to see Jayden. She must have really needed her presence right now.

But what Elena saw there made her rush off.

“No… I didn’t see anything,” Elena whispered in a trembling voice. She immediately held a taxi to take her home.

The woman was curled up with a violent shaking body on the bed. Her temples and hands were sweating coldly. Truly what she had just witnessed scared Elena to death.

“No, I didn’t see it. Get out of my mind!” Elena shrieked, hitting herself on the head.

But instead of disappearing, the memory haunts her even more. Elena never expected to see such a thing. Really. If only she had known she definitely wouldn’t have come there.

What Elena saw really messed with her mind.

“Dad, can you hear me?” Jayden asked as soon as Elena stood at the door of the ICU room where Elvis was being cared for. The door was slightly ajar allowing Elena to hear the conversation inside. Her hand was already on the door handle but stopped when she heard Jayden’s voice again.

“Ah, dammit! Why are you still alive too, huh?” Jayden cursed making Elena’s eyes widen perfectly. What did the man just say? Elena heard wrong right?

“You should have just died,” Jayden said again. “But it’s okay. At least I can beat Haidar and teach Hera a little lesson for daring to fight me,” said Jayden now smiling.

Elena’s hands suddenly trembled. Now she was sure she had heard right. Jayden really wanted his father dead. Elena should have left right then and there but instead she just stood there silently.

Jayden brought his face closer to his father who was looking at him with anger. But what can he do when the hospital medical device is fiercely stuck in his body.

Elvis wondered why he couldn’t move an inch? Even though he had no history of a disease that could make him paralyzed like this.

“Why? You want to move your body?” Jayden asked chuckling as he watched his father struggle to move.

“It’s useless. Because you’ll never be able to move again, you old bastard!”

Elena’s voice tightened in her throat when she heard Jayden swear at his father. What’s really going on here?

“Now your job is done,” Jayden said taking out a syringe and injecting it into the IV that was running through Elvis’s body. “This is your last assignment. Goodbye.”

After saying that, Elvis’ body convulsed and a satisfied laugh came from Jayden’s mouth.

Elena covered her own mouth then ran from there. She had just witnessed a murder committed by the man she loved so much.

“I didn’t see it. I didn’t see it!” said Elena over and over again, closing her eyes tightly. Hoping when she wakes up what happened was just a dream.

But as the morning approached, Elena was slapped with reality. What happened last night was not a dream. Right now she was standing in front of the Xavier family funeral home. The wreaths lined up with Elvis’s name left Elena unable to say anything else.

The man really died because of Jayden.

The woman in a long black dress walked slowly into the building. Her brown irises saw Jayden and Hera embracing each other in front of Elvis’ coffin. Elena’s stomach felt queasy when she saw Jayden sobbing there. She had to close her mouth.

Elena couldn’t take it anymore to see the scene that really made her suffocate. She then ran out of the house to the nearest toilet. Vomited all the contents of her stomach that felt churned.

Elena sat limply, hugging her own knees to muffle the tears.

‘Oh my God, how could Jayden do such a heinous thing? Then he cried loudly as if he was so lost.’ Elena screamed.

Then now that vile man was hugging Elena from behind. There was a fear she was trying to hide. But Elena couldn’t lie nor did she miss Jayden so much. The reason why she greeted Jayden so warmly as if nothing had happened.

Even though Elena had wanted to find out why Jayden killed his father, her plan failed. Jayden didn’t say anything.

“I’m really fine. Just a little tired,” said Elena trying to act casual so Jayden wouldn’t be suspicious anymore.

Jayden then turned Elena’s body. He pulled her chin up to look at him.

“I’m sorry, Elena,” Jayden said.

“What for?”

“For our fight a few days ago. I’m really really sorry for yelling at you. But my mind was really messed up so I—”

“Shhh!” Elena placed her finger on Jayden’s lips with a gentle smile.

“I’ve forgotten about it. So you don’t have to feel guilty anymore, hmm?” said Elena.

Jayden smiled sweetly and hugged Elena.

“Thanks, honey. I love you so much,” Jayden said.

“I love you too, Jayden,” Elena replied.

Yes. That’s true. Elena loved Jayden so much that she no longer cared about the crimes he had committed. Maybe she was afraid of Jayden but to her what she saw that night was just an accident that she had to forget.

As Elena said that night. “I didn’t see anything.”
