Chapter 44 Far Beyond the Divorce Case
The court trial was scheduled to be held on Friday.
On the day of the trial, Patrick and Amanda met in advance.
“If they really intend to let the driver take the blame, then we won’t be able to threaten them with the evidence in our hands. At that time, they will bite back and say that the Sean Group’s assets are all before marriage, which is very unfavorable for us.”
“If that’s the case, what should we do?”
“If that’s the case, we’ll apply to the court and investigate the Sean Family. We suspect he transferred the assets in the marriage, but the lawsuit will go on for a long time if we do this.”
“How long?”
“At least three to five months, at most one to two years.”
Amanda frowned and couldn’t help clenching her fists.
She was too stupid. All the marriage assets had been handed over to Halley, and she had almost no deposit in her own account. She didn’t expect that Halley would transfer all their assets early.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
“Naturally, the worst-case scenario I’m talking about might not come to that.” Patrick comforted.
Amanda was speechless.
As Patrick had expected, Halley not only denied the affair but also denied the transfer of assets. He completely disagreed with Amanda’s agreement on the division of assets.
Amanda was so angry that she almost squeezed her fingers into her palms. “The evidence of your extramarital affair is conclusive. I have all kinds of evidence in my hand, including photos, videos, and even your transfer records during the period of an extramarital affair.”
“Miss Jewell, what you’re saying is just an encouragement from my client as a superior to a subordinate.”
“I disagree with the lawyer. What kind of boss would take his subordinates to the mall to buy holiday luxury goods and do nasty things in the underground garage?”
During the break, Patrick unscrewed a bottle of water for Amanda. “Don’t worry.”
While they were talking, Patrick suddenly received a call.
“Hey!”
“Yes, this is Patrick speaking.”
Patrick’s expression changed after he heard what the other party had to say. He scrolled his phone in a hurry and glanced at it delightedly. “Amanda, we’re sure to win this lawsuit.”
Before Amanda could recover her senses, she stared at Patrick in bewilderment. She didn’t know where his confidence came from.
After the court re-election, Patrick suddenly pursued the matter of the Sean Group going bankrupt three years ago and accused them of marrying Amanda to revitalize the company.
On the other hand, everyone on Halley’s side, from Halley to the lawyer, was like a frosted eggplant without a single word to refute.
The judge reminded, “Do the accused have any objections to this?”
The lawyer of Halley’s side shook his head and acknowledged Patrick’s words.
Amanda clenched her fists.
Across the significant court ground in the middle, she and Halley looked at each other from afar. The three-year marriage seemed to have opened a gap between them; from then on, they were even.
The final judgment was Amanda won.
Most houses, cars, and other multi-purpose real estate were transferred to Amanda.
“If the accused has objections to the academy’s judgment, you can raise a direct appeal to Supreme Court within fifteen days.”
The trial was over, and everything was settled.
When Amanda left the court, she saw Halley as soon as she went out.
“Amanda, Amanda! You’re really something!”
Halley stared at her coldly with a gloomy look in his eyes. “You’re playing this trick on me, aren’t you?”
Amanda still had no idea what was happening, but she could vaguely guess it had something to do with Patrick’s call.
Her expression remained unchanged. “I’ve only taken back the portion I should have taken.”
“Good, very good.” Halley gnashed his teeth.
At this time, a car stopped by the side of the road.
“Halley, did you win?”
Olinka came up to her with a happy face but was shocked by Halley’s gloomy face.
“Lost?” She couldn’t believe it.
“Halley, wait for me!”
Amanda watched them leave before asking Patrick, “Patrick, why did they give up defending themselves later?”
“I guess it’s because of this.”
Patrick showed Amanda the email on his phone. “This is the bank transfer record of Halley paying the driver’s family to take the blame. There are also photos of him and Olinka three years ago and records of them using company funds to buy luxury goods…”
All in all, it had already exceeded the scope of the divorce lawsuit.
If they were to pursue the matter, Halley would lose all his fortunes and be in prison.
“I think their lawyer had also received these threats when he suddenly gave up on defending themself.”
Amanda was surprised. “Where did they come from?”
“The person called me before said he’s the assistant of the President of the Byran Group.”
Patrick hesitated for a moment before asking, “Amanda, do you know the President of the Byran Group?”
Amanda was stunned.
The Byran Group.
After the morning meeting, Iverson had coffee as usual in the office.
Jamie came in to send him information about the meeting.
“Mr. Byran, here’s the information for the meeting today.”
Iverson looked pensive. “The court should have tried by now, right?”
Jamie raised his wrist and looked at the time. “It’s time to start.”
“All the things were sent over?”
“Yes, I sent them to the lawyer’s email 10 minutes ago. I also made a phone call to ask him to check them to avoid missing them.”
Iverson nodded slightly and took a sip of coffee.
“It’s sunny today.”
Jamie criticized silently by the side, “It’s not sunny at all. You must be in a good mood.”
