Chapter 3383
At the mention of giving Hunter money, all three Clark brothers first laughed before changing the subject and gathered around him as they walked into the house. They did not dare secretly give Hunter any money after their last lesson learned.
They could give their father whatever he needed but dared not give him money directly. A few hundred dollars or so was acceptable, but they could not give it to him daily. If they did and Hunter saved it up, he could save around ten thousand dollars a month.
That was a negligible sum to them, but it was a large enough sum for their strictly controlled and penniless father to do a fair few things. If Hunter used the money they gave him to wrong Belinda in some way again... well, they did not even dare to imagine the consequences.
Hunter knew what his sons were thinking and his expression clouded in unhappiness. Once they got in the house, he made a beeline for the sofa and sat down before picking up a pack of cigarettes from the coffee table and lit one stick. Sinking back into his seat, he glumly smoked his cigarette. He was such a failure. As a husband, he could not control his wife and was controlled by her instead. As a father, he could not exercise his authority and had no say over his children. In Fisher Manor, he seemed like the master, but was actually no better than the butler. His children had more of a standing than he did. Even his grandchildren had better standing than he did.
Belinda felt nothing for him, but that was not the case for their grandchildren. Whoever she liked would be one of the masters in the Fisher family and could live prosperously. Sometimes, Hunter regretted marrying into the Fisher family for money. He thought he would live carefreely, but in the end...... Later on, once the Clarks had gotten numerous benefits from the Fisher family, he did not dare to make any careless moves for fear Belinda would take it out on his family. He still had siblings, after all. Plus, their three sons had taken his surname and were Clarks. Every time Hunter met up with his siblings, they would remind him not to offend Belinda and to please her so that the Clarks could maintain their wealth status.
"Dad, it's not that we don't want to give you money, it's just that Mom watches us too closely."
"It's just too easy for her to check where our money goes."
"Yeah, Dad. It's not that we want to be unfilial. Mom just makes it so troublesome."
"Just let us know what you need, Dad. We'll get it for you. Won't it be just the same then?"
After Adrian and his brothers handed the items they brought to the domestic helpers and instructed them to prepare for the barbecue, they walked over to Hunter and clustered around him to coax him.
"Can't you give me at least a few hundred dollars? Your mother used to give me at least five hundred dollars a day, usually," Hunter asked his sons angrily. "She does watch you lot closely, but she can't control you that much. It's not like I'm asking you for thousands like I used to." All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Hunter for sure knew Belinda watched them closely.

"It would be great if you guys gave me just a few hundred dollars daily, enough for me to buy my own cigarettes. Don't you know how shameful it is for me to always be penniless whenever I go out to socialize?"
He could no longer indulge in women, but he could still meet up with his old friends to eat and drink. Belinda would not mind much. Now that they were living separately, would she even mind at all?
Hunter guessed that she had gone on this current trip to look for the man she truly loved. She should not assume he did not know.
