Chapter 585
Jenna said, "You can't take this responsibility. Lord Baldwin is ruthless. If he finds out about this, anyone related to you will suffer. But there's only one way out of this." "What's the plan?" Fressia asked anxiously.
Jenna took her hand and said, "We'll send you to Baldwin Manor. When you see Lord Baldwin, tell him bandits attacked you and barely escaped.
"You're so beautiful that he'll probably take a liking to you and let this matter slide."
"No. I won't agree to that," Sebastian said stubbornly.
"Your stubbornness will get us all killed," Jenna snapped.
"Jenna, I'm willing to go. Send me to Baldwin Manor," Fressia said. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
She was kind-hearted by nature. After losing her memory, she became even more innocent and pure. She didn't want anyone to suffer because of her.
"I'll kill Lord Baldwin!" Sebastian clenched his fists. His eyes were filled with murderous intent.
"Have you lost your mind?" Jenna was shocked. "Lord Baldwin is a warrior, and his manor is filled with experts.
"He's not someone you can just kill on a whim. You'd likely be killed before you get the chance to see him."
"How big is the gap between that butler and a warrior in terms of strength?" he asked.
She replied, "I've heard that Hubert is the best fighter at Baldwin Manor after Lord Baldwin. They say he's just a step away from becoming a warrior. Why are you asking this?"
"I think the butler's skills are average. If his abilities are close to a warrior's, I might have a chance to kill Lord Baldwin," Sebastian said coldly.
"Stop this nonsense. Warriors are more powerful than you can imagine. You managed to kill Hubert only because you caught him off guard," Jenna stated.
Then, she seemed to have a
realization. "But even with a surprise attack, taking out five of them is ng small feat. You must be talented and might be well-suited for cultivation. Why don't you take the entrance exam for the Netherworld Sect?"
"The Netherworld Sect?"
She continued, "The Netherworld Sect is the most powerful sect within a hundred miles. Their leader is an earl. Lord Baldwin wouldn't dare touch you if you became the sect's disciple.
"I heard their annual recruitment day is tomorrow. If you leave now, you might make it in time."
"I'm afraid it's too late. Lord Baldwin should receive the news soon. What will you do if I leave?" Sebastian asked, concerned.
"I'll take Fressia to the mountains to hide for a few days. We should be safe for a while. The rest depends on whether you can pass the selection." Jenna looked worried.
"Is the recruitment assessment of the Netherworld Sect difficult?" he asked curiously.
She smiled bitterly and said, "It's not hard but extremely tough. After all, it was the largest sect within a hundred miles. There were tens of thousands of applicants yearly but they only recruited fewer than a hundred."
"Recruiting nearly a hundred people a year? Well, it doesn't sound tough," Sebastian said.
Jenna rolled her eyes. "On average, hundreds of applicants compete for one spot. Isn't that tough? Plus, a month after they're accepted, there's another test. At least a third of them will be eliminated.
"So, if you want to stay in the Netherland Sect, you must get in and pass the test. It's as hard as climbing a mountain." She didn't have much faith in Sebastian.
But he was brimming with confidence. "Don't worry. I'll definitely join the Netherland Sect."
"Let's hope so. I'll prepare things. You two have a moment together," Jenna said before leaving.
"I'll wait for your return," Fressia said.
Sebastian pulled her into his arms. He couldn't resist the sight of her inviting lips and kissed her. The desire he had been holding back for so long finally ignited, and he gently pushed her onto the bed.
She was very cooperative. After all, he was her husband. If they couldn't escape this fate, she would give herself to him rather than anyone else.
