Chapter 6 Confused Saviour’s Tales (Part I)

Third person Point of view

Artemis sat by the lake, her finger drew circles on its surface. She gave out a frustrated sigh.

Why does that idiot take things so serious anyway? She thought. She admitted it was part of her fault. But she did try to apology earlier, well almost...but still. There wasn't any apparent reason for him to be mad and run away. Now she stuck here without knowing what to do.

she couldn't return home with a new Perseus missing. Leto gonna be so mad and she would never ever try to anger her. But she just couldn't wait here either. What if that idiot wouldn't come up? And how could he hold his breath for so long? It's been nearly ten minutes and she hadn't seen any sign of him drowning or bubbles appear on the lake's surface.

She knew she had to do something. Something to get him out of there before she gets into more trouble.

"Perseus" Artemis called out to the water. "Perseus you can come out now. You've been down there long enough."

Again, no answer, no response, no sign of him had heard her. She growled under her throat.

This was the only male had irritated her most and she couldn't do anything about him. She shivered from the cold air in the cave, it was warm a moment ago. She had to get out of there quick.

"Hey Perseus answer me!" She yelled. "If you not coming up, I'm gonna jump down got that!?"

Percy sat at the bottom of the lake, his finger drawing the image of Artemis smiling on the sand by his finger. He didn't know why he was drawing her even when he was so mad at her. It was his mistake to bring her to this place. No, he shouldn't have to like her from the beginning. He had longed for

someone to regard his presence, even just another person besides his mother. Yet now, when a second person added and that was the one he hoped most. She had disappointed him greatly.

Despite her voice came down perfectly to his ears, he didn't have the urge to resurface. He didn't want to see her right now. Why can't she just go away?

Suddenly, he heard motion on the surface and a blast of water as something was swimming down.

Without patience, Artemis swam straight into the bottom of the lake. She had prepared herself to apology him. Well that was preparation, not actually on progress. She wasn't sure if she had that courage to say that two words. And besides, she had hurt him more than she could imagine. She couldn't just look at him and say 'hey Perseus, I'm sorry for insulting you. Come back with me or I will have to sleep outside tonight because of mother' Yeah right, if he cared enough to go.

She swam for a while down without knowing what was down there. She didn't know it would be this deep. Suddenly, her instinct told her to swim up because she would be in danger down here. She knew it was dangerous to leave her domain. In water, she was as weak as a demigod. If there was any monsters down here. She didn't even know how to protect herself, talking about convincing Perseus.

Then from the corner of her eyes, a shadow swam at her. She smirked thinking Perseus had come to his sense and came to see her. But that smile soon faded when the closer the shadow approached, the bigger it got.

Then out of nowhere, a massive head of a dog appeared with fangs as large as daggers. It nearly snapped Artemis in half if she didn't swim aside to dodge it.

It missed her, turned around for another charge. Artemis breathed out heavily, her heart wanted to jump out from her chest. Death just passed between her eyes. She kicked herself for mentioning monsters in here, now speaking of devil.

The monster looked like a hellhound with red eyes and grey fur. It surprised her because no hellhound could achieve this size. This monster was as big as a tank and weight properly tones. But it swam in the water and breathed in it as easy as a fish.

The hellhound bared his fangs, leaned back for a charge and Artemis knew, the only option left was to run.

She moved back slowly with her leg kicking in the water, her hand raised to a sign of 'stop' All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Ok big guy" she smoothed him. "I'm going off ok? Sorry for invading your territory"

The monster growled again as with a bark, it lunged at Artemis.

Artemis gave out a scream and started to swim for her life. She dodged some of its strike every now and then, but the way to the surface was still far to reach. It didn't take this long for her to go down.

Then, she saw the glittering light at the top. She was saved. Passing through the water and in her domain, she could summon her weapon and destroy this monster would be just a piece of cake.

Suddenly something kicked in. Perseus was still down there! Perhaps he might have been eaten by this monster, but what if he was hiding somewhere and waited for her to save him? She couldn't leave him behind, even if she hated his guts.

The surface was as reach, but her speed had decrease. The hellhound was lunging itself as full speed with its legs kicking off, sending the fishes away. It was a decision for her to make, either she swam up to the surface and kill this monster then save Perseus later. Or strike down to the bottom to save him with the tank of fur at her back. The first option seemed to have more potential, but what if it didn't follow her up. What if it left her and went back down to hunt Perseus. She couldn't fight it under the water either. That was when she made up her mind, she couldn't leave him to die no matter what.

Artemis closed her eyes, turning her back away from the light at the surface. She knew he had casted away her chance of survival. She did compromise her mind that was it worth for her to sacrifice for a male. Maybe she would die down there in the process, but now, it seemed that she didn't have time to bargain it.

The monster swam up with its mouth wide open to snap her. Artemis closed her eyes and strike down at it.

It missed her the first time as she swam as fast as she could to the bottom. The sooner she found Perseus, the sooner she could get out of the water.

The monster was frustrated as it chases after her. She saw it was close and just had time to dodge before it pass her again.

The hellhound turned back, it gritted its teeth. Now she had to dive between his jaws again. But this time won't be as lucky as the first. It had known how to catch her now. The last strike, one of its sharp teeth did cut her forearm and now Ichor was flowing out from the cut.

It opened its mouth in challenge, daring for her to strike. Beneath it, in the darkness down there was the bottom of the lake. Where Perseus, or maybe his remain laid. She had to depend on her luck now. She might lose half of her body in the process, but she could still survive. Why do I have to be like this just because of a male? She thought bitterly.

She closed her eyes and dived down again. She knew she wouldn't make it, she knew she was heading for her death.

Suddenly, she felt another present as somethings grabbed around her waist, pulling her closer. She could felt the heat radiating from its body. Her eyes still closed, but she knew that unmistakable scent.

Perseus grabbed Artemis and lunged straight at the surface. They emerged from the water, but the boost was too strong that they flew straight up to the ceiling. To the point they couldn't reach anymore in the air, they started to fall. As they fell, Artemis knew it would tear them apart if they landed of the rocky floor below.

Suddenly, Perseus flipped over as now her back was facing the ceiling as his back was pointing toward his death. She tried to scream at him, but he put his hand on the back of her head and pressed her face closer to his chest, shutting her up. At that moment, the only thing she could do was pray. She held on his shirt, gripping it so hard that her nails piercing through the fabric. Her eyes closed and hope for the fall wouldn't kill both. Or more importantly, not to kill Perseus.

With that, she felt they hit the floor and turned unconscious.
