After work, Linda headed to the front of YK Media and asked the security guard to get her car instead of doing it herself. William’s behavior before had deeply unsettled her.

She drove back to her hotel, and the phone in her room rang before she could even relax. She answered it.

The soothing voice of the receptionist came over the line. “Ms. Linda, a lady named Hannah Felix is asking for you in the lobby.”

Hannah? Was she already losing her cool? Linda wasn’t planning on dealing with Hannah just yet.

“Ms. Linda, would you like to see her?”

“Take her to come to the conference room on the ninth floor and get me a glass of grape juice.

“Certainly. One moment, please.”

Linda washed her face and walked unhurriedly into the conference room.

Hannah was anxiously waiting inside: When Linda entered, Hannah urgently clung to her clothes as if holding on for dear life. “Linda, you have to help me.”

“What’s happening?” Linda sipped her grape juice, eyeing Hannah with calm interest.

“My mom wants to marry me off to the second son of the Hemsley family from the west end of the city, who’s in a wheelchair, Hannah explained tearfully.

Isn’t it great? Haven’t you always wanted to marry into money?”

“But he’s disabled!”

“So what?” Linda asked nonchalantly.

Hannah shifted the responsibility to Linda

“If you hadn’t returned and messed everything up, I could have

had a better option. My parents wouldn’t be in this trouble if it weren’t for you.”

Glaring at Linda, Hannah exclaimed, “Linda, you owe me this!”

Linda felt like she had just heard the most hilarious joke of the year.

“I owe you?” Linda sneered. “If I wanted, I could see to it that your parents spend the rest of their days.

Linda laughed. “Oh, try me, Ms. Hannah.”
