Chapter 3295
Jared discovered the place had yet to be touched by the crossfire but was heavily guarded. He then noticed Lawrence's figure standing at the entrance of the house.
Without a second thought, he was certain Nicole was inside.
Just as he was about to proceed, Patricia's voice came from behind. "Mr.
Johnston."
Jared glanced at Patricia, his eyes narrowing slightly as he said, "Draw their attention."
Believing the chance of a successful distraction was higher with assistance, he wanted to exploit it.
"Understood," Patricia responded, signaling to her squad members. She then led a group to charge from the left, while another group attacked from the right.
The scene quickly descended into chaos. Patricia took advantage of the turmoil to launch herself at Lawrence with a flying kick. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
She understood Jared's strategy: only by pinning down Lawrence and his men could Jared have the opportunity to enter the house and rescue Nicole.
Jared watched everything unfold calmly, waiting for the perfect moment.
Moments later, his pupils contracted sharply as he dodged an ambush, then kicked the attacker to the ground.
Ignoring the groaning figure, Jared sprinted past the crowd and seized the moment to reach the front of the house. Together with Patricia, they pressed Lawrence from both sides, forcing him into a retreat.
Grabbing the chance, Jared kicked the door open with a loud crash.
The noise of breaking porcelain came from inside, making Jared suddenly worried.
Inside, he saw Nicole had taken care of a guard and was safe.
Feeling a wave of relief, Jared quickly went over to Nicole and said, "We need to leave now." "Okay," Nicole replied, and they hurried out together.
Outside, the battle was still raging, but it was clear Lawrence's side was losing strength.
"We're struggling to keep up. What should we do?" Ian, looking worried, came to ask Lawrence.
Watching Jared and Nicole escape, Lawrence clenched his jaw and commanded, "Pull back." "Got it." Ian then yelled, "Everyone, retreat!"
With that order, Ian and Lawrence were the first to leave, with the rest of their team following closely.
Patricia, lowering her weapon, turned to Nicole and asked, "Ms. Riddle, are you okay?" "I'm fine," Nicole responded, a bit surprised to see Patricia there, but knew now wasn't the time for questions.
Looking serious, Nicole then told Jared, "There's a bigger problem we need to deal with." "What's going on?" Jared asked, sensing the urgency in Nicole's voice.
"Lawrence has been secretly working on weapons, like advanced combat robots similar to 'Brave,'" Nicole shared. This was a twist they hadn't planned for.
"But how did he get 'Brave's' data?" Patricia was shocked.
Nicole explained, "After we saved the 'Brave' robots and were heading home, something happened. Maybe that's when he got the data." Only Lawrence would know the full story.
"Looks like we have a tough challenge ahead," Patricia realized, going pale. Facing robots was a whole different challenge.
