My Gentle Wife is a Real Divine Being

She eased into the chair. Michael saw no point in it, but he knew better than to refuse her requests.

He handed the newspaper to Ben. “Make it happen.”

Ben nodded but paused at the door..

Debra looked up, asking, “Didn’t I tell you to contact them? Why are you still here?”

Ben held up the newspaper, pointing at a gaudy square in the bottom left corner. A cartoon Batman glared out, surrounded by decorative borders. The line went like this: “Bringing justice to the world! Add me on WhatsApp via the QR code below and submit your articles. P.S.: I’m the owner of New Age.”

Debra blinked, momentarily speechless. In this day and age, this was either genius or

madness.

She pulled out her phone and scanned the code. Up popped a profile, Batman staring back at her. She shook her head, half–expecting to hear a dramatic “I am Batman.”

She sent a friend request, and moments later, it was accepted.

Batman: [Who is this?]

Debra: [I want to submit a story.]

Batman: [Awesome. You can start.]

An excited emoji followed, ready for the latest scoop.

Debra: [I’d prefer to talk in person. I’m near your office. Can I drop by?] novelbin

She waited for an answer, but there was no response. She sent a follow–up question mark but received a pop–up of the message being rejected.

Debra paused, and Ben commented, “It seems they blocked you.”

Debra shot him a withering look, and he zipped his mouth.

“Gather some men. I’m going to their office,” she said.

Ben sprang into action, rounding up a group of security guards. They piled into vans, Debra leading the charge like a general off to battle.

Upon arrival, she stormed into the building, her entourage fanning out behind her. The staff inside froze, eyes wide with panic. Some ducked under their desks, while others held

Debra smiled slightly, resisting the urge to slap him. “Mr. Eaton, I want you to work for me.

“I prefer being my own boss,” Garland replied.

Debra’s smile faded, her eyes blazing with determination. “As I said, I don’t need this company. If you want to be the boss, I’ll buy it and give it to you. But you? You’re not negotiable.”
