I have some shooting work tomorrow, so come early Do you hear mer

Then the phone was hung up

By the time Kamryn returned to the room, Charlie was cleaning up Eugene in the bathroom

The boy was too small to shower every day, so his shower frequency was twice or third times a week. Nonetheless, they would clean him up with a warm towel, the process of which would take them even longer.

Kamryn started putting away the Legos that were scattered on the sponge mat

Eugene was sleepy after the cleaning was done for he had a very stable circadian rhythm.

However, he tried to stay awake and glared at Charlie warily when Kamryn put him to bed.

He clearly knew what happened last night.

Last night after he fell asleep, Charlie put a stuffed toy in his arms while he himself went to sleep with Kamryn in his arms.

Eugene wanted to sleep in Kamryn’s arms too, so he decided to wait for her to go to bed and hug her tightly.

He struggled against sleepiness, looking as if he wouldn’t sleep until Kamryn went to bed.

That amused Kamryn. She told the boy to wait for a while and went to take a bath. To her surprise, the boy was still waiting for her after she finished the bath.

She glanced at Charlie and asked hesitantly, “How about you sleep in the bed and I sleep on the sofa?

“No, you sleep in the bed. Eugene needs you”

“Doesn’t he have the toy?

“He needed you more than the toy, Charlie looked at her and replied.

Kamryn was stuck in the middle.

She felt it embarrassing to sleep on the same bed with Charlie and Eugene,

As if he could read her mind, Charlie said flatly, “I will sleep on the sofa and leave the bed to you and Eugene?

“Are you sure?”

Kamryn sized the sofa up, which was obviously too short for the tall Charlie.

She was sure that Charlie would find the sofa too narrow and small

“Yes”

Charlie smiled and his voice softened as he said, “Go to bed,”

“Okay. Sorry to bother you these days.”

“No, I should be the one to say sorry”

Charlie turned to look at Eugene, who was fighting his sleepiness. He chuckled and said, “Eugene is too dependent on you.”

“It’s fine…

“Then, good night Kamryn smiled.

It took Charlie a while to reply, “Good night”

Oliviously, he was not used to having someone say good night to him.

After turning off the light, Kamryn got onto the bed and fell asleep with Eugene in her arms.

Charlie sitting on the sofa handled his business emails and reviewed financial reports until three am

He rarely worked till so late.

The reports showed that his companies had problems making profits though not in the red.

Many artists of the agencies he acquired left after their contracts expired.

He had yet to integrate his resources because Glorise Consortium didn’t engage in showbiz much. But he had decided to put more effort into it in the future.

After all, showbiz and the media industry were very profitable despite the high risk.

Charlie put away his laptop and walked to the bed for he noticed that Eugene kicked the blanket off.

He tucked the boy in before going back to the sofa and lying on it, wrapped in a thin blanket. From where he was lying, he could see Kamryn’s sleeping face.

She was sleeping quietly, her breath even. The moonlight shone on her face, adding a touch of beauty and languor to her.

Charlie shifted his gaze to his son. The boy wrapped his arms around Kamryn’s waist tightly even in sleep as if he didn’t want anyone to take her away from him.

“What a clingy boy,” Charlie thought.

He was amused, and a feeling of drowsiness crept over him. Thus, he closed his eyes.

Kamryn was woken up by the vibration of her phone.

Afraid of waking Eugene up, she set a vibration–only alarm on her phone and put it under her pillow so that she would wake up the moment it vibrated. Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

With Eugene and Charlie in a sound sleep, she got up quietly and put on her clothes. But she couldn’t find her bag.

Her bag was a canvas one, cheap but durable.

Perhaps Alan had put it away.

Failing to find her bag, Kamryn set her eyes on the packaging of the Hermes bag Nicole gave her.

She unwrapped the packaging and found an orange leather bag.

“Charlie is away out of your league. Stay away from him if you’re smart.”

What Nicole said that night rang in Kamryn’s mind again.

Kamryn’s hands paused as she looked at Charlie.

She could understand why Nicole was hostile to her.

Charlie was an outstanding man.

And Nicole never tried to hide her feelings for him.

Kamryn decided not to dwell on the matter.

Bringing the bag, she closed the door carefully.

In the set.

When Kamryn got to the set, Jenna had started putting on makeup. Her agent yelled at Kamryn, “How dare you as an assistant arrive so late? I’ve told you like a thousand times not to keep an artist waiting.”

Kamryn checked the time and replied, “I’m not late.

“It’s not for you to decide whether you’re late or not. Don’t you know that an assistant should never be sluggish? Or do you think you’re a bigger star than Jenna so you kept her waiting?

“That’s enough.”

Jenna interrupted her agent.

She shot a glance at Kamryn, whose bag, however, caught her attention.

She recognized it as a limited–edition Hermes bag, and there were just around 100 units around the world.

While most Hermes bags cost thousands or tens of thousands of dollars, Kamryn’s bag cost at least 200 thousand dollars.

Jenna had the same bag, which was given to her by a sponsor. Though it was not from the co–branded series, it was very rare.

“Where did you get this bag?”

Jenna immediately questioned.

Her voice attracted the attention of everyone in the dressing room to Kamryn’s bag, followed by their discussions in disbelief.

“It’s a Hermes…”

“Yes, the limited–edition…”

Jenna has one, too.”

“How could she afford such a bag working as an assistant?”

The discussions made Kamryn annoyed.

Following Jenna’s gaze, Kamryn looked at her bag and replied in a casual tone, “It’s given to me as a gift.

“Who gave it to you?”

Jenna sneered. “Who could give you such an expensive bag? Is it a counterfeit?”

Kamryn thought for a moment. A rich person like Nicole wouldn’t give her a counterfeited bag.

“I don’t think so,” she replied.

“Haha.”

Everyone present burst into laughter.

Jenna, in particular, found it amusing. “Kamryn, could it be that you are deceived by that person? Do you even know how much a real bag costs?

“How much?

400,000 dollars!

The answer caught Kamryn by utter surprise. “Is it that expensive?” she wondered.

No wonder Nicole looked so grim that day. It turned out she gave her such a costly bag.

“Now you know why I said you were deceived. This bag is fake. Can’t you tell that?”
