Chapter 0038
It was only when a small chuckle was heard, that the tension broke, and all eyes landed on Amara.
She was the one who had chuckled.
And the reason for her chuckle? This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
She stared at it, before slowly raising her head and meeting Jasper's eyes. "Aren't you quite the comedian." She complimented and bent over, picking up the napkin from the floor.
The napkin on the floor.
Jasper's brows arched when he saw Amara dust the napkin with her hands, but the look of amusement on her face remained.
"What a shame," She said. "I was so eager to hear your jokes, yet you have to ruin the mood with such a nasty one."
With the napkin in her hand, she walked forward, closer and closer, until she was a foot away from Jasper and all the confidence he had, dissipated.
"I appreciate you worrying about me, Mr. Reynolds, but right now isn't really the time to do that, seeing as I don't need your help. What you should be worrying about is raising the teams motivation once again. Look," She gestured towards the Employees who clearly looked less motivated than before. "They all look like they've just attended a funeral, no moral at all to work. And you what else then boss hates besides liars? When his team has no motivation and right now, you're the cause of that. He's sure to get angry at you, probably cut your pay or fire you, but you know, I can put in a good word for you."
Throwing the napkin right in front of his shoe's, Amara added. "As long as you get on your knees and wipe the shoes of my employees who's motivation you nearly killed."
Jasper's eyes were wide and his face was red. Amara could tell, even without looking at his reflection, that he was furious.
"You-!" Jasper wanted to say more, but once again, under the stares and whispers of other employees, he felt his voice lodge itself in his throat and his pride stop him from humiliating himself.
He wanted to say so much, curse and insult Amara, but he couldn't.
It was infuriating, but what could he do?
"This isn't over." He spat and stomped away.
Amara shrugged and turned to the group of employees who were all watching her.
"Now, I know Mr. Reynolds can be a pain in the neck, but let's not allow him ruin our day. We have a hectic week ahead, so let's focus on our work. I promise, when it's all over, I'll take you all out to lunch." The group of employees, men and women, smiled and nodded.
"Good," She clapped her hands. "Then, I'd love to see your results."
""Yes Ma'am."
Saying this, everyone returned to their duties, leaving Amara to walk to her office with a satisfied smile.
Duncan was already waiting inside for her. The assistant bowed the moment she stepped inside.
"Good morning Ms. Amara." He greeted.
"Morning Duncan," Taking off her coat, Amara hung it on the coat rack and proceeded to her desk. "Did you get what I asked you to?"
"Yes." Saying this, Duncan brought
forth a file, placing it on Amara's table and opening it, revealing the details and information of Bethany's daily schedule.
"Excellent," She praised and grabbed a pen, quickly skimming through the schedule. After a few minutes, she closed the file and told Duncan "Make a reservation at Luxuria's
Restaurant for the
'Luxuria, wasn't that the restaurant on Bethany Sinclair's schedule?' Duncan thought. "Luxuria?" He questioned. "Are you planning on meeting with Mrs. Sinclair?"
Amara smiled and nodded. “That's the plan. After all, we can't have her mother rejecting a deal before it. even starts." She waved her hand. "No go on, we don't have all day."
"Yes ma'am," Duncan left and Amara focused her attention on the schedule again.
If she wanted to meet with Bethany, the only way to do it, was by catching her off guard.
At around three in the afternoon, after a hectic morning, Amara found herself stepping into Luxuria, a high class, five star restaurant in the heart of the city. "Hello," The receptionist greeted her the moment she entered. "How can I help you?"
