Her Glamorous Beauty

This isn’t real love

Rebecca turned back and got down from the rooftop, but Emerson didn’t leave there. As he looked down at the ground where Claudio fell, he realized what he had done. The man is lifelessly lying in the grassy yard.

Being in bewilderment, it crossed his mind to escape, but as he thought that he must not do what he did before, he needed to face the doom he chose. He sat down there, thinking about what Rebecca felt, about what could happen to him. Will they throw him in jail if he doesn’t flee?

He’s in a dilemma-but Emerson doesn’t have any counselors-Damian didn’t appear to be doing what he always does, and he needed to make a decision for himself. He stood up and took the emergency exit.

“Claud-dio!” Lucille screamed from her innermost emotions as she got out of the mansion and found the lifeless man. She hurriedly got back inside the mansion and reported what she saw to Bernadette and Elfedio.

Thereafter, the crowd appeared in the yard. People are talking about Claudio’s death. They don’t know who did that. But it is easily predicted that he would fall down from the rooftop. They thought that he had jumped down himself, but that sounds impossible.

“He went somewhere last night, for sure to meet Rebecca,” Damian thought in silence and sadness while driving them to the funeral home. “I hope my hunch is wrong, or else he’ll probably prepare his own pit.”

On the one hand, Emerson didn’t show his face when they were quarrelling, for he’d just drown himself in the sea of guiltiness. He didn’t know why he felt differently about it. He wasn’t even affected when he killed a lot of people in the streets, but since he met Rebecca, she corrected his wrongdoings.

“I know what I did was a mistake, and I’m willing to face what Rebecca’s decision will be. If she would like me to pay my sin, then I’ll do that for her,” Emerson soliloquized as he walked back and forth in the passageway.

“What are you doing here, man?” Lando asked. “Don’t you want to share your thoughts about Claudio’s death with us?”

“Huh? Uh, of course, but I know nothing about what happened, and if I know, I still won’t tell anyone, because I’m not a quidnunc,” Emerson replied.

“Okay, if that’s what you believe in, but don’t forget, there are some people watching your every move. You might regret what you did,” Lando insinuated

“Why? What did I do wrong?” Emerson pretended not to know what he was talking about. “I was here all day long and I don’t care if your master died!”

Lando nodded as he turned and left Emerson in irritation. Why is he even mad if he didn’t do anything wrong? Lando thought for sure he was involved with Claudio’s death, as he continued to the farmstead.

In the afternoon, silence prevailed all over the mansion when Claudio’s coffin arrived. Everyone still couldn’t believe what happened, as if it was just yesterday when he arrived and now he’s already lying inside a box.

Meanwhile, from the window of her bedroom, Rebecca saw them carrying her brother’s coffin inside the mansion. She knew that breaking someone’s bones is not so painful, but killing someone? That’s the worst thing someone could ever do, especially if it’s not just anyone, but her brother.

“You don’t want to go outside?” Lucille asked as she entered Rebecca’s room. “Take a glimpse at your brother, even just for the last time,” she advised.

Rebecca looked back and said, “I don’t know, but since Emerson arrived here, a lot of bad or worst things have happened. Do you think that he only brought misfortunes here?”

Lucille walked towards her and took a peek through the window, and noticed that she hadn’t seen Emerson with those workers. “Perhaps that’s just what you feel. You know, we must always look at the positive side.”

“But there’s no positive side to what’s happening. Two people have died since he arrived here, and I’m going to lose my mind if another one goes!”

“Why are you saying that? Don’t you love him anymore? Or is there anything wrong with him that you should stop loving him?” Lucille guessed.

“Nope, but I’m not happy anymore with what’s happening. Those thrills have quickly gone as how we fell in love with each other. I even wonder if this isn’t real love.”

“Why are you referring to him? I think he doesn’t have any connection with what’s happening. You know, everything that happens has a reason.”

Rebecca sighed as she wearily walked towards the door with the thought that how Emerson couldn’t have any connection with what was happening if she witnessed how everything changed since he arrived? She continued downstairs, and so did Lucile.

“I’m so sorry, brother!” Rebecca screamed in her mind while peeping at her brother’s face, who looked like he was just sleeping, but was still laughing regardless of everything. “I know, we didn’t have good companionship, but I’m still thankful to have a brother like you.”

Elfedio and Bernadette are just staring at Rebecca. They can’t stop being emotional as they remember how they would treat their son, like someone who’s not a part of their family, but a worker. They regretted that they didn’t spend time with him.

“I hope he’ll forgive me,” Elfedio mumbled as he thought that it was he that was the reason why his son committed suicide.

“Do you really think that it was he himself who jumped down from the rooftop?” Bernadette furrowed her forehead in curiosity or incredulity.

“Who else? There’s no one else who would do that to him,” Elfedio replied, as if he completely knew his son, that perhaps he could commit suicide of his insanity.

Meanwhile, the real culprit never showed himself the whole day, which made Rebecca think that he had already escaped, but the truth was that he was just sitting there inside the dormitory, sitting by the table while taking a few shots of coffee.

“Why won’t you take a glimpse at him? I noticed that you two were close. Are you sad that he’s gone?” Damian asked as he sat down on the chair in front of Emerson.NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

“I just don’t want to, brother. I’m still busy,” Emerson replied. “Though I’m sad that he’s gone, we still need to accept that everyone’s end won’t refuse to come.”

“Hmm. You said you’re busy, but all you’re doing here is drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking. I think you’re lazy enough to skip reading my dialogue; you’re not telling me something,” Damian guessed and tried to catch Emerson’s sight, but it seems that he’s avoiding eye-to-eye contact with him.

“Huh? What do I need to tell you?” Emerson asked, then swallowed his coffee. “You already knew everything about me, even those crimes I had committed.”

“Yeah, I already knew everything, and I also know that you’re still hiding something. Are you involved with what happened to Claudio?” The word totally came out of his lips.

“Involved with what?” Emerson exclaimed. “Of course not.”

“Weeh?” Damian paused. “You told me that you were going somewhere last night; where did you go, huh?”

“To the rooftop,” Emerson stumbled out, both accidentally and voluntarily. “I mean to the, yeah, to the rooftop.”
