Chapter 31
Chapter 31
Emma ran alone in the hallway of the hospital.
Why did she want to run away?
She didn’t know about it.
The only thing she knew was that she was afraid of that small room, where there seemed to be a lot of
painful memories. She instinctively wanted to avoid.
Gradually, the people who were chasing after her seemed to disappear. Emma slowed down and
stopped at the door of a ward.
She opened the door.
It was not like those that she had just walked through.
She looked curiously into the room, everywhere was burnt black, and there were some abandoned
medical equipment in it.
Why was there such a room in the hospital?
Emma was not clear about what had happened. Just then, someone's voice was heard from the
outside. It was the man who wanted to take her back to the obstetrics and gynecology department!
She shrunk down her head and went into the room with extraordinary agility, lying under the
abandoned bed.
Emma waited with bated breath for those people to pass.
“She was obviously running in this direction. Where is she?” Someone asked in puzzled.
“Be careful, don't frighten lady Emma. Boss said she can't bear to be frightened.” Someone warned.
"Lady Emma is so strange. It's just an antenatal care. What's the big deal?” Another one said.
“Shush, don't judge her if you don't know her things. Our boss had forced her to have abortions for four
times...”
As the voice drifted away, Emma's head began to ache. Their boss had forced her to have abortions for
four times?
Who was the boss? Who was lady Emma?
And whose kids were aborted?
Emma huddled painfully under the bed with her head in her arms. She felt she had missed something.
But what was it?
Glenn was anxiously searching for Emma in the hospital. He wanted to dig into every possible corner if
he could.
He thought it was all his fault.
He had forgot that this was a sad place for Emma. Because he had personally ended four little lives of
their babies.
“Glenn, you will definitely get retribution!”
That was how Emma cursed him, and now it finally became the reality.
He was awakened by countless nightmares every night. In his nightmares, his four kids held his legs
and called him father one by one.
But when he picked them up, they would turn into monsters and swallow him with their mouths.
Glenn blindly searching for Emma room by room. His numb mind was thinking, if he couldn't find
Emma, then he would just jump off from the ward.
Maybe in this way, Emma could forgive him.
Emma curled up in bed. There was a fluster in her heart. She didn't know what was wrong with her.
She felt so hot, and there seemed to be a smell of choking smoke in her nostrils, which made her
breathe hard.
What’s wrong with me? Emma thought.
She stared blankly at the blackened walls in front of her eyes. From time to time, some sporadic
memory fragments flashed in her mind. Emma felt pain in her head.
For a moment she saw she was caught in a fire, and someone was calling her name.
But the next moment she was lying sprawled in a huge golden cage with a frightening man smiling to
her.
And after that, she saw she suddenly fell from a tree. Her hands were broken. She lowered her head
and saw the devil's shoes stop in front of her...
No! No!
Emma hugged her head, but it didn't relieve her pain, and she fainted in the severe pain at last.
When she woke up again, she was still lying in the small bed, and didn't know why she was sleeping
there. She got up slowly from under the bed and prepared to go to dinner.
She thought, the big man is late to deliver the food today.
She walked step by step, her brain was not quite sober.
It was evening, and the rays of the setting sun fell through the window on the rusted bed, coating it with
a warm yellow light.
Emma's attention was suddenly drawn to it, and she even reached out to touch the rusty iron railing.
Wow, it looks so warm. Emma thought.
Something seemed to be hit by Emma's hand. The thing on the bedside table were thrown to the
ground, making a clear sound.
Emma bent slightly to pick it up, but she stopped when she saw it.
It was a thermos that had been burned black and out of shape. It had been thrown casually on the
bedside table, and were thrown to the ground by Emma carelessly.
The conversation of one evening seemed to run through her mind.
It was also in such a sunset evening.
"Have you ever liked me?"
"No."
"Even a little?"
"No."
...
Then there seemed to be a whole thermos cup of water pouring down on her, and a man's voice
sounded overhead.
"Are you sober now?"
In the fire, the flames blazed with choking black smoke. The man, covered in wounds, with half of his
hair burnt off, said to her, "listen, I'll open the door, and when you see it open, run outside as fast as
you can. You got it?"
"What about you?"
"Of course I run out with you."
Holding the broken thermos, Emma suddenly broke into tears.
Glenn heard a faint sob. He was in a hurry.
At this time, the door of the ward opened from inside, revealing Emma's red and swollen eyes.
"You..."
Glenn was suddenly stunned. Standing in front of the shabby ward door, he looked at Emma who he
had been worried for a long time.
After a while, seeing that she didn't have reaction, Glenn stupidly raised his hand and gave it to
Emma's lips as if it was a generous behavior.
"Bite it, if you want..."
Emma's eyes, which were originally indifferent, had a little change in an instant.
She raised her hand and slowly pushed away Glenn's scarred palm.
Before Glenn could respond, she walked out.
Several people, who had just arrived, looked at Emma with a confused face. They didn't know whether
to stop her or not.
Glenn made a gesture to stop them, and he was stunned there for a moment.
He looked at Emma like he was looking at some lost treasure that he regained.
"Emma, are you ok?" Glenn seemed to think of something. He stepped forward to stop Emma and
looked at her. He was afraid that her condition would worsen again.
Emma looked up at him, her eyes were no longer alert, but a little dull and tired.
Then Glenn heard Emma call his name in a cold voice.
"Glenn, leave me alone, don't follow me." This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
Glenn's brain crashed for a few seconds, and then he was overjoyed. He said "OK" several times. With
a big wave of his hand, he let his men retreat.
Emma had her memory recovered, which showed that he had a chance!
But soon after that, Glenn didn't think so.
