Chapter 28 PERFECT TIMING
“Why didn’t you tell me that you also got the name of your band from your grade schoolmate?”
Andrew and I finally had our date after one whole week. I’m bothered by the hint that Lance gave during the interview about Andrew’s love life but I’m more bothered by the fact that I’m not the sole reason why they named their band Allison.
Now, I feel like it was named after their schoolmate and not mine. I’m not being selfish but a bit jealous now that I heard the story about her. It seems like, she was special to Andrew and I can’t blame him for that. What the girl did for them is a huge thing. You can’t easily forget that.
“Am I even included when you named it, Allison?” I asked a bit annoyed when Andrew remained to look at me without saying anything.
Andrew held my hand firmly and caressed it to calm me down. But I was more annoyed with what he did.
“Can you stop staring at me and answer my question!” I hissed.
He sighed but his hand remained on mine. “I really named the band after you. You were the reason why we always play music together. I just remember that her name was also Allison, the reason why the five of us become close friends.”
I shook my head. “I doubt that.”
“Hey baby, look at me.” He said in a calm voice. “It was really because of you. You were the first one who pop out when I was thinking the name of the band. Stop with all your doubt and trust me.”
I’m still not convinced with his answer but I don’t want him to think that I’m so shallow to make this thing an issue.
“I asked Lance a while ago if he met her again after she left your school, he said that he didn’t. What about you?” I curiously asked.
He nodded which made my eyes widen a fraction.
“I met her two years ago. She was the one who recognize me first.” He confessed.
“Wow! But I assume that you didn’t mention that to the group, because I’m sure that they would like to meet her again.” I said in conclusion.
“Yes. She asked me not to tell the group.”
“What? Why?”
Andrew shrugged. “She has her reason. I’m not in the position to share it.”
What reason would that be? I can’t think of the possible reason for her to ask Andrew not to tell the group about her. But I did not push it to Andrew.
Our dinner went well. I’m happy that we can now go out without people being suspicious of our relationship. I did everything according to plan. I went out alone with Vince last week which became an issue but easily died down when someone posted that they also saw me having dinner with Lieo, though Mich and her husband are with us.
Mich and I are getting along well. I remember Anne confronted me a while ago about me going out with Mich.
“Are you now friends with Mich?” She asked when she saw me getting coffee in the pantry.
I look at her. Her eyes are accusing.
My forehead creased. “What’s wrong with me, being friends with Mich?”
Her jaw drop. “Are you really asking me that?! Did you forget what that girl did to me?”
I smirk at her. “No, I don’t. Now tell me, what did she do to you for me to avoid her or not be friends with her?”
Her eyes widen a fraction from the shock of my frankness. “You’ve changed.” She only said.
“Of course I change. Change is constant in this world.” I said then left her.
I know that it’s wrong to judge someone by her past. But in this case, we can’t trust a girl like her with that kind of record. I’m not sure if I will be thankful that Lieo didn’t fall for her because he fell for me. I honestly want her to be out of our lives. Though, I hope that she will stop using men to achieve whatever she wants in life.
I am fortunate to have well-off parents. But even when I haven’t met them, I am happy with the simple life that I have with my adopted family. And I hope in the future, Anne will learn how to be contented in life. Money or material things is not the only thing that can make people happy. I know this sounds too good to be true but it’s possible. I experience that firsthand in the past.
“How are you with Anne?” I asked Andrew.
We are now in the pool area of my house having wine and light snacks. This area became our sanctuary since we became a public figure.
Tonight, I am planning to reveal everything about Anne to Andrew. I feel bad that it took me a week before telling him about her, but we can’t do anything about our schedule.
I saw him flinch. “Why are you asking me about her? Are you still not on good terms?” He asked instead.
“Why do you keep answering my question with another question? Can’t you just answer me?” I said displeased with his answer.
“I’m sorry. It’s just weird hearing you ask me that kind of question. You know that I work with her. Obviously, we’re good. I haven’t fired her yet because she was doing good with her job. I’m not surprised though, she always wanted to work in the entertainment industry. I’m sure she told you about that.” He answered calmly.
“How did she become your manager? You haven’t shared that with me yet.” I asked to find a good timing to tell him about what I found out about his manager.
“When I went back from the US, I shared with her why I failed to approach you to win you back. Then she came with the idea of me entering the music industry. She was sure that you will block all the numbers and social media account that I will use to contact you. As per her, this is the best solution to approach you.”
So it was Anne who encourage Andrew to pursue his career?!
“Then how did she become your manager?” I asked since his explanation is not enough as an answer to my question.
“Since she was the one who came up with that idea and was unemployed at that time, she automatically become my manager.” He said like it was the obvious answer.
“She was unemployed?” I asked to confirm because I think this is a good opportunity for me to open up my real agenda.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
Andrew nodded. “Didn’t Lieo tell you that Anne resigned from her work in Lieo’s company?”
Shocked is an understatement of how I look in front of Andrew right now. I drink all the remaining wine in my wine glass then I get the wine to pour my glass and drank it all again.
“Hey, you are drinking too much. Don’t tell me Lieo didn’t tell you about that?!” He said while taking the wine glass from me.
The rage that I am feeling towards Anne is overflowing. How can she manipulate my boyfriend like this! This only proves that she has another agenda. And I think Lieo and Lance theory is right! Anne’s next victim is Andrew!
“Did you ask for her resume when you hire her as your manager?” I asked a bit in panic.
Andrew frowned. “Why will I need to ask Anne her resume when I already know her?” He asked a bit confused now.
“Even if you already know her you still need to ask for her resume and do a career background on her! You should also talk to Lieo and ask about her!” I raised my voice a bit from irritation of his innocence- scratch that! Stupidity is the perfect term to describe him right now.
I can’t believe that my boyfriend is this stupid. But I still love him, though.
“Lieo likes you! Why will I talk to him? And he was also the reason why Anne resigned from her job!”
That’s plain stupidity, Andrew!
“Because Anne did not resign from her job! She was fired by Lieo!”
