Chapter 1240
Tara walked in with a grin, "Hey, Master, you seem really cheerful today."
"Today, I made a friend for life," Corbyn beamed. "I'll have to introduce you to her sometime. Her medical knowledge is incredible; even you can't hold a candle to her." Hearing this, Tara raised an eyebrow. Could Flora really be that impressive to earn such praise from Corbyn? Wasn't she just from the regular world?
Even though Tara wasn't thrilled about being compared to Flora, she kept her smile intact, "Really? I'd love to meet her if I get the chance." "Master, you're not thinking about making her your disciple, are you?" she probed cautiously. "Does that mean there'll be another 'Flora' around?" "A disciple?" Corbyn shook his head. "No, no, no, that's not in the cards."
They'd already become sworn siblings!
Tara hadn't heard about that twist, but she was relieved to hear that Corbyn wasn't planning on taking Flora under his wing.
"Master, when I came in, I saw poor Sydney kneeling outside. She's been at it for hours. Maybe let her get up? It's getting chilly, and she can't possibly kneel all night."
At the mention of Sydney, Corbyn's face hardened. "Let her kneel! She's too full of herself! Without a good lesson, she'll get into even bigger trouble down the road!" Tara, ever perceptive, noticed Corbyn's simmering anger and decided it was best to stay quiet.
...
Flora and her friends returned to the Gilbert family, their arms full of treasures.
Joey and Gerald were taken aback.
"Did you guys rob a bank or something?" Joey exclaimed in disbelief. It looked like they'd cleaned out the Medical Hall.
Gerald frowned, puzzled.
"We owe it all to Flora's charm!" Carly explained, recounting the day's events at the Medical Hall. "Flora is unbelievable. She knows Corbyn and even helped us put Sydney and Teddy in their place!" After hearing the tale, Joey and Gerald couldn't help but give Flora a second look.
This girl... She'd only been in the Martial World for a couple of days. How on earth did she get to know Corbyn? And to think he gifted them so much.

Mae was anxious, so she did her best to ensure they were well-prepared.
"Alright, Flora, we'll catch you later!" Jacob and Carly said happily as they left, leaving Flora with Joey and Gerald in the hall.
"So, Flora, what's the deal with you and Corbyn?" Joey asked, curiosity getting the better of him, while Gerald listened intently. They couldn't quite buy that it was just a casual connection, given all that Corbyn had done for her.
Flora paused, then said, "Corbyn is my brother."
Joey, Gerald: "???"
Corbyn was old enough to be her grandfather. How could he possibly be her brother?
Flora continued earnestly, "We just became sworn siblings from different families."
Joey, Gerald: "..."
Their expressions said it all.
They hadn't pegged Flora as having a knack for humor.
"Flora, you're quite the comedian," Joey chuckled awkwardly. "Alright, if you don't want to spill the beans, we won't press you."
Flora went quiet. She wasn't joking, nor was she holding back. She was telling the truth.
Why wouldn't they believe her?
Oh well...
