Chapter 1225
It was the same guy who'd bought some medicine from her earlier. Next to him, an older man lay sprawled out, looking in pretty bad shape. His body was shaking uncontrollably, his face was a scary shade of purple, and he was gasping for air. Without help, he was on the
brink of suffocating.
"Connor," Flora said, giving Connor a tap on the shoulder. He instinctively set her down.
"Boss! Hang in there a bit longer!"
The guy was nearly losing it! They'd just been wandering around the black market when, out of nowhere, the boss had a relapse and fainted.
"If you keep shaking him like that, he's not gonna make it," came a calm voice from above. The guy looked up without thinking.
Flora was already crouched down, reaching for the older man's arm.
"What are you doing!" he shouted, swatting at Flora's hand. But before he could even make contact, Connor caught his arm.
Connor's gaze was icy, sending a shiver down the man's spine.
While this was happening, Flora had already checked the older man and was ready to give him a pill.
Seeing this, the man panicked, "What did you just try to give our boss?"
He didn't really trust Flora; she was a stranger, and he didn't dare let the boss take anything from her.
"A pill," Flora said, still keeping her cool.
A pill?
The guy hesitated, then quickly asked, "Are you a doctor? You're so young!"
"Who are you? What's your name?"
He bombarded her with questions. Flora, who was just trying to help out of kindness and because they had bought her medicine, was losing her patience with his fuss. She shot him a cold look. "Either let me help, or let him die. It's your call." "I promise, without my help, he won't last two minutes."
The man was torn.
He'd already called for backup, but the nearest medical help was far away. Two minutes was definitely not enough time for them to get there.
What if, as she said, the boss couldn't hold on for two minutes?novelbin
Seeing his indecision, Flora turned to leave.
"Wait..." he hurriedly stopped them.
With the older man's condition worsening, he gritted his teeth,
clearly making a tough call, and gave Flora a slight bow. "Miss, please forgive my earlier rudeness. I beg you, do everything you can to save
our boss. We'll be forever grateful."
"If you'd saved your breath, your boss would be fine already."
Flora tossed out a cold remark, then crouched in front of the older man. "Connor, help me get his shirt off." Connor did as she asked.
Flora pulled out a small pouch of silver needles. Her skills in alternative medicine weren't as recognized as conventional ones, but they were much more practical in emergencies like this.
"You're gonna use acupuncture?" the guy asked, visibly tense as she took out the needles. "Be careful, young lady, the wrong spot could be..."
Flora gave him a brief look.
Under his worried gaze, she swiftly inserted a needle into the top of the older man's head and quickly moved on to other key points on his body! The man was speechless.
"Cough, cough, cough..."
The older man hacked up some blood and started coughing violently!
"Boss!" the man exclaimed, shocked.
The older man was taking big gulps of air, clearly in pain, but he was breathing again. The man was overjoyed, gently helping him catch his breath.
"He's okay now," Flora said, handing
the needle pouch to Connor to pack
up. "Just make sure he gets plenty
of rest and takes it easy when you get back."
