Chapter 2 Argument
Chapter 2 Argument
"Since you didn't plan to, why did you decide to get married? You know that we won't be able to meet
often after you're married, right?"
"If she didn't force me, I wouldn't marry her."
Vaughn blurted out these words without holding back. And then rolled over and pinned Laney down.
"Dear, your fiancee is here."
Laney placed her hands on Vaughn's chest to stop him from coming closer. She then pointed at the
door.
"That's impossible. I've just sent her off. Why..." Even though Vaughn said so, he couldn't help but look
at the door. "Hollie, why are you here?"
Vaughn froze immediately when he saw me, and his expression stiffened.
Vaughn quickly got off Laney and looked at me with a hint of panic in his eyes.
At this moment, he was no longer aroused. In a panic, he didn't manage to cover his naked body.
Laney wrapped herself in the blanket and looked at me in a leisurely manner. There was a mocking
smile on her face.
Right now, my face was covered in tears. I was furious and spiteful. I wanted to let my emotions out. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
The truth was so cruel. I had no choice but to turn and leave.
Vaughn quickly wrapped a towel around his waist and caught up with me. There was guilt in his eyes.
"Hollie, let me explain..."
"Is there anything else to explain? I saw everything clearly just now. How do you plan to defend
yourself?"
My heart ached so much that I couldn't breathe. In fact, Vaughn's eagerness to explain himself gave
me a glimmer of hope.
Laney put on Vaughn's shirt. Her wavy, long hair was messily spread on her shoulders, and this made
her look even more seductive.
She walked over to me with a hint of provocation in her eyes. "Harper is Vaughn's child."
Harper was Laney's three-year-old child. It turned out that Vaughn was the father...
The glimmer of hope in my heart disappeared when I heard what Laney said. I felt my brain exploding,
and for a moment, it was as though my world was collapsing.
I looked nervously at Vaughn, hoping that he would deny what Laney said. But things didn't go as I
imagined.
Vaughn lowered his head a little, and there was guilt in his eyes. Evie was basically implying that
Harper was his child.
My heart hurt tremendously, as if it was being cut by a knife. I wanted to beat them up and scold them,
but right now, all the emotions were pent up in my heart, and I couldn't utter a single word.
I was furious and spiteful!
This shameless couple actually did this behind my back! For the past seven years, I treated Vaughn as
the man I loved the most and Laney as my best friend. But they actually got together without my
knowledge and even had a child together!
"Bitch!"
Unable to suppress the anger and humiliation in my heart, I raised my hand and slapped Laney hard in
the face. I used so much strength that my hand went numb.
"Laney!"
Vaughn's voice rang out. Vaughn sounded obviously concerned about Laney.
Laney turned her head sideways from the impact of the slap. She then immediately turned back
towards me and glared at me.
"Laney, are you okay? Does it hurt?"
Vaughn looked at Laney, worry apparent on his face. When I saw this, there was a pang in my heart.
My fiance was concerned about the mistress who ruined our relationship right in front of me. How could
I not be upset?
"Vaughn, she hit me. My face hurts."
Laney pretentiously put on a piteous look and hugged Vaughn's arm. Tears were dripping down her
cheeks.
