Chapter 323
The inte exploded, just as expected!
At 11:15 PM, the trending topics were on fire.
Top trending: #Eileen Tweeted#
Second place: #EileenSlaps Renee#
Third place: #WholsRenee?#
After Eileen hit the 'Tweet' button, she tossed her phone to Janice and then looked across at Renee, who seemed utterly shell-shocked, as if she hadn't quite come back to reality.
Renee was on the verge of a meltdown!
Once she regained her composure, she covered her cheek and stared at Eileen in disbelief. "You hit me! Have you lost your mind?!"
Eileen snorted, "With a whole slew of trends about us, did you really think I'd act like nothing happened?"
Renee's face twisted in anger, and she retorted, "I don't know what you're talking about!"
Eileen replied with disdain, "I know, and that's all that matters."
Renee narrowed her eyes, fury burning within. She raised her hand, aiming to return the favor with a surprise slap of her own!
But as her hand swung towards Eileen, Eileen was already on the move.
Before Renee's hand could reach her, Eileen countered with her own slap, landing another stinging blow on the other side of Renee's face.
"AAH!"
Renee stumbled backward from the impact, her face now adorned with twin sets of finger marks, perfectly symmetrical.
"AAAHHHH!"
Renee was beyond furious!
Her face was a hideous mix of red, white, and blue, like a paint can ready to burst.
Throwing caution to the wind, she lunged at Eileen, her nails aiming for Eileen's flesh!
Without even batting an eyelid, Eileen grabbed Renee's hair with one hand, yanked her head back, and flung her towards the wall.
Renee's back hit the wall hard, her spine rattling.
She slid to the floor, utterly drained.
Now Renee looked completely deranged, her hair a wild mess, her face blotchy as if she had been through a mauling.
Earlier that day on set, Renee had faked tears, but now, red-eyed and utterly humiliated, she burst into real tears.
She had never felt so wronged in her entire life!
Eileen looked down at Renee with disdain and then turned to Janice saying, "Get me pen and paper."
Janice, a bit startled, quickly rummaged through her purse, pulled out a notepad and a pen, and handed them to Eileen with respect. Eileen scribbled a series of numbers on a page, tore it out with a whoosh, and tossed it onto Renee's face.
Renee winced, and the paper settled on her face for a second before drifting into her lap.
Eileen said calmly, "That's my number. Tell your boyfriend to call me."
She tossed the notepad and pen back to Janice and walked away without looking back.
Janice followed Eileen, and after some distance, she couldn't resist glancing back.
Renee was still sitting at the doorway, glaring at them with venomous eyes and a face twisted in rage, like a demon risen from hell.
Janice shivered and stammered, "Eileen, is it really okay to hit her like that?"
Eileen didn't break stride and coolly asked, "What, you're worried she'll miscarry?"
Janice was dumbstruck. Damn, she hadn't considered that!
She gasped, "But Eileen, you hit a pregnant woman! Aren't they going to crucify you online now?"
As she reached for her phone to check Twitter, a call came in—it was from Ophelia!
Janice nearly dropped her phone in shock.
"Eileen, what do we do now?" she asked with a pained expression.
Eileen glanced at the phone, took it, and answered the call.
Janice was stunned; she had expected Eileen to ignore Ophelia, given her usual fear of her.
On the other end, before Ophelia could speak, Eileen cut in, "I handled it."
Ophelia was taken aback, having expected Janice, not Eileen, to answer. She began to roar, "Have you lost your mind? What the hell are you Tweeting about? If you're going to fight, do it discreetly! Are you trying to give me an early grave?"
Eileen furrowed her brow, hung up, and handed the phone back to Janice. "It's no use talking to her. If she calls again, tell her I've got my reasons and the company shouldn't interfere."
As they reached her room, Eileen pushed the door open, only to freeze.
Sitting on the couch was Egbert.
Janice noticed him too and shrank back a little.
She looked from Eileen to Egbert, feeling like a third wheel.
Eileen told Janice, "Go get some rest."NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
After Janice left, Eileen stepped inside without closing the door. "Are you leaving on your own, or shall I throw you out?"
Egbert pleaded, "I'm here to apologize, I'm sorry, truly."
Eileen glanced at him. "I'm wrong, sorry, won't do it again, right?"
Egbert said nothing.
Eileen gestured towards the door. The message was clear: goodbye!
Egbert then said, "Renee's boyfriend, Hans Iverson, 47, chairman of the Iverson Group. They're a Seahaven-based company specializing in export trading and fashion manufacturing, with three big national clothing brands and a few chain stores. Not too famous outside their area, but in Seahaven, they're an old-school tycoon. They've been expanding into neighboring cities with some new trendy lines that the younger crowd loves."
Eileen perched on the edge of the bed across from Egbert, her gaze icy as she said, "What exactly are you trying to say?" Egbert tried again, "Hans has a wife, named..."
"Named Fidelia." Eileen cut him off, finishing his sentence, "Fidelia, head of the fashion design department at Iverson Group, with over twenty years in the industry and sixteen international design awards under her belt. She's been a judge on model talent shows, scouting for brand ambassadors. And Renee, who was just seventeen, won the first season. Hans met her right after that victory. I know all this. How about you tell me something I don't know?"
Egbert was at a lost for words.
At that moment, Eileen raised her hand and pointed towards the door, her demeanor ice-cold, "Do I need to throw you out myself?"
After a brief silence, Egbert finally stood up and slowly made his way out of the room.
No sooner had he stepped out than Eileen slammed the door shut with a resounding "snap."
Standing in the hallway, Egbert thought to himself that this time he really couldn't smooth things over.
Just then, he sensed something and furrowed his brow, glancing to his right.
Carrol and Janice had been peeking around the elevator corner, spying on the scene.
When Egbert caught sight of them, they quickly recoiled and scurried to hide!
