Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties

Chapter 40

[Ping! The farmed rice field poses success! Unlocked a hidden task!]

Damien jumped up in the foam board.

"No not again. Not hidden tasks."

He was reluctant to check out what the hidden task would be. After all, that was what he had just woken up to.

Like the system cared.

[Ping! Hidden Task: Save your subjects and unlock 4000 experience points.]

"My subjects?"

Damien only got more confused.

"What does this dumb system mean by my subjects? Could it be the girls?"

He jumped on his feet and hurried out of his room. He didn't even bathe yet. When he got to the living room, there was none of the girls in view. "Maybe they are sleeping?"

He looked around. He saw the stick from yesterday. The stick with which Claire had threatened him. He didn't even bother to check whether or not she passed the night in the castle or returned to the cave.

"Or maybe they are outside fighting? But there's no noise."

He decided to go check it out for himself. He searched around the compound but found no trace of them. He couldn't even find their footprints. "Obviously they are still indoors."

He put his finger to mouth to stimulate his thoughts.

"Hell, that stinks!"

He hadn't have a proper bathe since few days now. Since they started and completed the farming of the rice field.

The main reason wasn't really anything worthwhile. He just wanted to go have a swim in the waterfall. But he guessed that today wasn't the day. He would have to stink the day out.

"If it's not the girls, then could it be the--"

"Holy shit, the Cannibals? Oh, my subjects! The Cannibals! But wait, if the system calls the Cannibals my subjects, then what would it call the girls? Has it ever refered to the girls at once... like --"

- fool, that's not necessary. let's go right now. ~

"That voice sounds familiar."

Damien looked to the gate and saw the wolf who had telapathed with him.

"Where have you --"

Damien recalled his last experience with the wolf and refused to the complete the statement. He pretended not to see her and ran past her, running into the woods.

He halted at the base of the Boabab tree. The wolf outran him. He glared at her but she looked away indifferently.

THIS FOOL.

~ this bastard. ~

Damien's jaw stiffened. How could he had forgotten that she could hear his thoughts?

He climbed up the tree to the watchtower and picked up the rifle of the poacher. He pursed his lips, contemplating.

"Whatever."

He wore its strap around his back and slid down the tree.

"I don't know what the problem is, but I should be prepared."

He started running in the direction of the Cannibal village but then halted suddenly. The wolf halted behind him, looking away, not willing to make an eye contact with him.

"I don't need your help. You can go back to wherever you have been hiding all these while."

The wolf looked at him this time.

~ don't make it so obvious that you're pathetic, bruh. when will you grow up? if you so want me to stay with you, shouldn't you build a place for me. or should I scare the girls away again and get blamed? like you always do? ~

"The girls? Why aren't you calling them my queens today?"

~ i give up. ~

The wolf ran on.

"That dork!"

Damien followed. In no time, they both arrived at the fallen fences of the village. Damien had decided not to erect the fence any longer. He didn't have to worry about the Cannibals harming any of the girls. He was now their king!

They advanced towards the settlement and began to hear noise and struggles. Then followed cries and whimpering.

"What's happening?"

Damien ran hastily to the centre of the village. His jaws dropped at what was in sight. A super big brown bear.

"I'd be damned."

He gulped. He hadn't seen a bear that big, not even in animated movies; well, he did love animated movies. And sometimes, Anime.

~ will you do something already? ~

The wolf knocked him out of his fantasy. He looked, five elder Cannibals couldn't hold down just one of the huge hands of the bear. That was how strong the bear was.

There was a startling discovery which really gladdened Damien's heart; the fact that even the wolf felt helpless this time. But he knew that he couldn't build upon the silly feeling, he was responsible to the Cannibals.

He unstrapped the rifle and aimed it at the forehead of the bear. Boom! He let out a hasty bullet which sank into the skull of the bear. The bear dropped back down, crashing on one of the huts.

[Ping! Saved your subjects and gained 4000 experience points.]

Damien was expectant. He didn't want it to end there. A part of him was waiting for more gifts from the system, something like a 'system gem'? But he was disappointed!

Even though he had no idea what he could use a system gem for, yet he wanted more. He was sure that it was a valuable item.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

He was nudged back to reality by an activity going on at his front. He looked, all the Cannibals were bowing before him. "This is your home, we are your slaves, Lugal."

They repeated over and over again. That seemed like their own way of appreciating and swearing their allegiances.

THIS ISN'T MY HOME, FOOLS. MY HOME IS --

He didn't complete the thoughts. When would he get used to the fact that Der overhears his thoughts?

"Get up. I have a task for you. I didn't save you all for nothing."

He was used to the bows.

"Say the words, Lugal, we'll remain this way."

"If so, there's a strange man on this island. I've been trying to lay my hands on him, but I couldn't catch him. If you would do your king the favor of brining the man to me right away?"

"Right away, Lugal!"

Seven of them jumped up.

"Do you mean him Lugal?"

One of the seven pointed towards the fence and a man ran past it.

"Yes, that's him. That bastard. He was peeping?"

The seven didn't wait for his words. They had zoomed off.
