Chapter 1127
"Sure, I'll grab it right away."
Theodore turned to walk to the car without any hesitation, seemingly very obedient to Rosalie. Their interactions felt very natural, just like that of a couple married for a long time.
Aurora's brows furrowed at the sight before her.
Why was Theodore being so attentive to Rosalie? He went immediately after she told him to.
Theodore grabbed the bouquet of lilies from the car and presented it to Rosalie. "Rose, let me take the baby. Give this bouquet to Grandma." Rosalie was about to refuse, but the thought of Theodore being Steve's biological father made her decide that he did have the right to carry Steve. She did feel some guilt over Theodore thinking that the baby was Sebastian's, and that she never told him the truth. In fact, everyone was hiding the truth from him. She was very conflicted about it.
Things between them were so complicated, the issue couldn't be worked out in a matter of just a few words.
Eventually, she nodded. "Alright. Thanks."
Theodore immediately handed the flowers to Aurora. "Help me with this."
Aurora took the flowers, feeling numb.
Theodore then carefully held Steve in his arms. Steve opened his mouth, looking as though he was going to cry.
Theodore started to panic. "What's the matter? Am I carrying him wrong?"Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
"No, you're doing very well. Perhaps he doesn't find you familiar," Rosalie said.
Both of them thought Steve would cry, but he simply opened his mouth and crumpled his face. The next moment, however, he looked at Theodore with his huge, glistening eyes and smiled.
Theodore's heart melted at his adorable smile.
A wave of melancholy hit him, and he suddenly felt like crying. His eyes turned red; somehow, he felt a strong affinity with this child, as if Steve were his own. Perhaps because Steve was
Rosalie elet
child
and because he loved her, he loved
her child too.
The baby's father wasn't a decent man, but he was Rosalie's after all. What's more, he was innocent.
Rosalie looked away from the father and son. She was worried that if she continued looking at them, she might blurt out the truth right there and then. Her gaze inevitably landed on Aurora.
Wild anger flashed past Aurora's
eyes, but the moment Rosalie's gaze
landed on her, the anger in them
melted into a smile. She took a few steps forward and, as if she were the mistress of the house, said, "Let's head in. Grandma can't wait to see all of you."
"Yeah." Theodore looked up at Rosalie. "Rose, let's head in."
They walked into the villa. Theodore and Rosalie walked side by side, while Aurora and Angie walked behind them.
Angie whispered into Aurora's ear, "That's Rosalie Young? Looks bitchy."
Her insult made Aurora's day, but Aurora maintained the demure look on her face and warned, "Don't let Theo hear you."
"Don't worry. I'm not that stupid. But what was that about just now? She was ordering Theo around and completely disregarded you. You're supposed to be the future Mrs.
Spencer."
"Angie, no one knows what will happen in the future." Aurora felt very threatened given how things were going right now.
"Don't worry. You'll definitely be the mistress of this family!" Angie said through gritted teeth. "Others can forget about usurping your position. I won't allow it to happen."
Angie was Aurora's cousin. If Aurora were to succeed, Angie would ride on her coattails.
Aurora wrapped her arms around Angie's and said with a smile, "Angie, I'll count on you then. I've always known that you're smarter than I am."
