CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1620

Jamie watched the bustling streets outside, her eyes clouded with a hint of sadness.novelbin

Ben noticed and felt an inexplicable discomfort. Without a word, he gave the waiter a subtle nod. "Bring out all your signature dishes," he instructed.

The waiter paused, momentarily stunned, before breaking into a broad smile. "A big spender! What a lucky day," the waiter silently remarked.

Soon, the table was filled with steaming dishes. The strong and spicy aroma made her eyes water. She quickly moved to sit next to Ben.

He glanced at her, a teasing lilt in his tone. "A moment ago, you could barely bother to engage, and now here you are, sitting closer. I guess no one forced you. You just couldn't resist."

Jamie paused for a moment but chose not to argue. He wasn't entirely wrong. Still, the playful exchange lightened her mood.

As the dishes came out, Ben barely touched the food himself, instead piling Jamie's plate high. Before long, her bowl was overflowing.

"Enough, really," she said hastily, moving her bowl aside to stop him from adding more.

Ben finally set his utensils down, though he wore a faintly disappointed look.

Just as they settled in, an unwelcome voice disrupted the moment. "Jamie? What a coincidence."

She turned to see Noah standing there, his smirk both insincere and infuriating. Her appetite plummeted.

"And look, my brother's here too. For a second, I thought Jamie was dining with another man. Guess I was wrong," Noah added, his tone laced with mockery.

Jamie suppressed a groan. It seemed she couldn't escape him no matter where she went.

Ben was unbothered and replied coldly. "None of your business. If you've said your piece, you can leave."

Noah turned to Jamie instead. "Such a chance meeting. Surely you wouldn't ask me to leave, Jamie?"

"Whatever Mr. Lucas says," Jamie replied evenly, wishing he would take the hint and leave. His presence was enough to ruin the meal.

But Noah either completely lacked

the ability to read the room or was intentionally ignoring it. "Don't be so cold. happen to need a meal too. Why don't we share a table? he suggested with a sly grin.

Just then, a waiter stepped forward, gesturing politely. "Sir, your reserved table is over here."

Noah glanced at the waiter, then back at Ben, chuckling. "No need to be in such a rush to send me away, is there?"

Ben furrowed his brows, his

expression calm but his irritation unmistakable. Jamie, who had

grown adept at reading his evermet

mood could clearly see the storm

brewing beneath his composed

exterior.

He wasn't just annoyed, he was furious. If Noah didn't leave soon, Jamie wouldn't have been surprised if Ben flipped the dishes onto Noah's head.

However, Ben maintained his

composure. He tapped the table

lightly, a clear signal. The waiter, quick to catch on, eagerly guided Noah away. "Right this way, Sir."

Before leaving, Noah cast Jamie a meaningful glance. She pretended not to notice.

"Is this restaurant part of the Lucas Corporation?" Jamie asked once Noah was out of sight.

"No, it's mine. Years ago, I won a tough legal case for someone, and they gave it to me as a gift," Ben replied nonchalantly.

Jamie stared at him, stunned. She had been surprised enough by his authority over the staff, but now, knowing the story behind it, her heart ached.

No wonder the waiter had been so accommodating. Even without a word, he seemed to understand Ben's intentions perfectly.

After dinner, Jamie made a quick stop at the mall. She bought a forehead massager, then headed to a jewelry store.

"Hi, I'm here to retrieve an item I left in storage," she told the clerk.
