Chapter 40
Chapter

Niamh felt the burning pain on her cheeks, and the entire car fell silent.
Castiel tensed up as he looked at her. He then looked at his hand, and his eyes widened in shock Both of them started breathing rapidly.
After a long while, Niamh looked at the man in front of her and started laughing-sarcastic and cold. "You really hit me because of that woman, huh?"
Niamh couldn't even hear herself when she asked that question. Castiel actually hit her for a random woman.
Before, her feelings for him were just disappointment and coldness. But at this moment, she felt a complete and utter sense of betrayal.
People said that letting go was a matter of a moment's decision. Likewise, the heart could die in
an instant.
At this moment, Niamh's heart was completely dead to any feelings toward Castiel.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
Castiel finally came to his senses upon seeing the red marks on her face. Trembling, he reached out to touch her, his voice shaking as he said, "Niamh." "Don't touch me!"
Niamh forcefully shoved his hand away and tried to open the car door, but it was already locked Her entire demeanor turned cold. "Open it!" "Listen to me."
"Listen to what?" Niamh roared; her reason completely disappeared. She turned back to face Castiel, her small frame brimming with rage!
"There's nothing left to discuss between us."
Castiel remained silent.
"Please maintain some dignity as a Jamison family member. If there's anything in the future, contact my lawyer. If you think I've harmed her so terribly, then report me. Need me to help you with that?" As she spoke, Niamh's phone displayed the emergency number.
Seeing the number on the phone, Castiel instinctively snatched it from her hand and quickly turned it off before she could press dial
"Are you crazy?" he began to yell in anger.
She had gone mad, really mad.
Niamh looked at the furious Castiel, her tone both angry and mocking. "I'm not afraid of you, so why should you be afraid of me?" Yes, why should he be afraid?
When he first discovered that evidence, his first thought wasn't to hand it police but to
over to th use it to threaten her into not divorcing him.
He... No matter what, his first reaction was always to prevent Niamh from leaving him. And Niamh?
In the face of that evidence, she seemed to have never been afraid.
"Is it because of that man?" Castiel finally spoke up after a long silence.
His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. The only reason he could think of that would make Niamh so fearless was that man from abroad.
She had been gone from Greenburg for months, and they couldn't find her whereabouts. It was obvious that it was because of him.
And now, facing the undeniable facts and evidence, Niamh remained unafraid; plainly because she had someone backing her. Niamh didn't expect Castiel to bring up Simon at this moment.
"Yes, I have someone protecting me. Is that enough?" she asked, completely indifferent.
Seeing Castiel's explosive rage, she continued, "When I received those things at Maplewood, it was him protecting me!"
Castiel remained silent.
"When the public opinion was ready to tear me apart, it was him protecting me! When that evidence was presented, he told me not to be afraid! He is the one who protects me, so what?" The more Niamh spoke, the more it provoked Castiel.
Back at Maplewood, Castiel didn't know that Simon was her uncle. She had lied, and he had believed her.
The pressure on her neck felt unbearable. At that moment, Castiel was so enraged that he nearly wanted to strangle her.
