Chapter 15
At this instant, the bathroom door opened and Frederick came out.
Subconsciously, Alicia twitched her body and moved her lips but nothing came out. If Frederick could kill with his gaze, she would definitely be cut into pieces— no, she would be minced meat!
She knew how wrong she was without needing to think much about it!
She watched as he walked to the wardrobe with a fierce and cold demeanor. A pang of realization hit her and she picked up the sanitary pad on the floor before going into the bathroom.
Alicia came out and got a change of clothes before stealing a glance at him again.
After thinking about it carefully and putting aside her fault in this matter, at least he did not have anything to lose, right? Why did he have to be so furious? In fact, she did not pester him to marry her by using pregnancy as leverage or by insisting on keeping the child.
It was not her fault, therefore why was she so afraid of him?
The most important thing at the moment was to deal with the current situation!
Alicia gritted her teeth and stepped forward. She suggested, "Let's get a divorce! I—" She didn't need anything!
Frederick glared at her fiercer than ever. He just brought her home but she was telling him that they should divorce? Was she trying to make things worse?
Alicia choked on her own words and could no longer continue under his stare. Her brain was in a mess.
Why did he act like that? What was he doing?
Frederick turned around and walked to the cabinet. After that, he picked up his wristwatch and put it on.
Alicia then came to her senses and she turned to shout, "I'm serious! Let's divorce!"
Before Frederick could speak, the bedroom door slammed open with a loud bang. Immediately, Mrs. Clements rushed in with Miranda behind her.
"What? Divorce? Frederick, are you still a descendant of the Clements family? How can you be so irresponsible? Are you trying to piss me off?" Mrs. Clements exclaimed.
Following that, she patted her chest and her face turned crimson with anger.
Alicia, who was near the door, held Mrs. Clements's hands instinctively and patted her back. She shook her head and explained, "Grandma, it's not what you think! In fact, it's my fault!"
She had no idea about the Clements family's unusual condition and traditions, let alone their unique genetic trait. The unique genetic trait in question would only be inherited by the male descendant. Men in the Clements family had black eyes when they were born but their eyes would turn blue after making love with a virgin. The change in their eye color signified that they were of age and they would be able to impregnate a woman. Otherwise, they would not have any children no matter how many women they slept with!
Therefore, the Clements family placed great importance on their family because of this unique genetic trait.
The first rule in the Clements family was that the descendants could never divorce after getting married.
However, Alicia never had the opportunity to know all that. She was just trying to be honest subconsciously. Yet, Mrs. Clements mistook her response as someone who was being reasonable
and polite while Frederick thought that it was all a meddlesome facade!
"I treated you well for nothing! Look at this fine young lady, you... ahem!" Mrs. Clements started coughing uncontrollably. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
Frederick was at a loss for words as he stared at the ceiling. Who was Grandma's biological grandchild? Was she out of her mind? He was not the one who asked for a divorce!
Frederick stepped forward and helped Mrs. Clements sit down. Subsequently, he patted her back gently and comforted, "Grandma, don't be angry. You wouldn't want to ruin your health! We're fine. Alicia was just throwing a tantrum!"
Huh?
Meanwhile, Alicia raised her head in shock but the response she got was a killing gaze!
Grandma captured Frederick's murderous gaze as well. Immediately, she raised her hand and hit him on the head.
"Don't be so harsh to Ally. She's not your subordinate! Girls should be spoiled! It's normal to have a little temper!"
