Chapter 39
Chapter 39
If it wasn't for Selena's luck, several crises had nearly destroyed her.
From the moment Angie appeared, the banquet hall was plunged into silence. Selena hit Angie so
unexpectedly that even Dominic, who was closest to Angie, did not react.
After two crisp, loud slaps, a dead silence fell over the room.
The first to come back to her senses was naturally Angie who had been hit, she felt the burning pain on
her cheek, her face twisted as she glared at Selena, almost mad with anger, "You dare to hit me?!"
Selena touched her palm which was sore from the beating, and smiled lightly, "You deserve it."
Angie raised her hand and was about to beat Selena, Luke looked over and sneered, "Miss Walson, do
you want to try and see what happens if you hit Selena?"
Angie met his good-looking face, and the seeping chill in his eyes froze her and made her shiver, and
she couldn't bring her raised hand down.
She was in pain and aggrieved, her tears immediately flowed down and she flung herself into Dominic's
arms and started to complain as usual, "Brother, Selena hit me, you help me hit her back and drive her
out of the Walson family."
Dominic watched his sister being beaten, the anger in his chest almost burned to the extreme, he
looked at Selena angrily, his voice squeezed out from between his teeth, "Selena!"
Selena's gaze was cold.
Luke's voice carried a trace of ruthlessness, "I see, in the eyes of Mr. Walson, Selena is deserved to be
beaten and bullied, and if she retaliates back, it is all her wrong. What is the use of such fiancé?"
Before Dominic could argue, a few of the girls who liked Luke had already spoken up first.
"Mr. Walson, this is your fault. You saw just now that it was your sister who was rude in the first place,
you don't teach your sister a lesson, but you blamed Selena. If Mr. Jordan hadn't helped Selena just
now, what would have happened to her?"
"Mr. Walson, I suggest that you teach Miss Walson a lesson, that kind of vicious words come out at the
drop of a hat. Selena slapping her is considered light, if it were me, I would definitely not give up so
easily!"
"That's right, in such a formal occasion, she even dares to treat Selena like this, in private, who knows
how she will bully Selena? Just rely on the fact Selena likes you, you are so reckless, now she doesn't
like you anymore, you are like a trash."
"..."
Dominic's face stiffened slightly when he heard those whispering voices, and although there were many
others who had not spoken out, the accusing eyes were clearly looking at him and Angie.
Even Angie was frozen in her tracks. NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
She was born cute and dainty and lively, and was usually spoiled and reckless. Today, she was
enraged by Leah's text message, and was used to bullying Selena, thinking that Selena would not
resist, before she made her move in public.
Little did she know that she would not only end up being beaten, but cause public outrage.
Angie said through clenched teeth, "It was her who hit me."
Luke asked with a cold smile, "If you hadn't pushed Selena first, if you hadn't insulted her first, would
she have hit you?"
Angie met Luke's cold eyes and became even more indignant and sad, saying angrily, "I didn't insult
her, what I said was the truth! She really-"
She originally wanted to say something about Selena's "debauchery", but when she met Selena's cold
eyes and thought of the two slaps she had just received, her heart palpitated and she said in a loud
voice, "It was clearly published in the newspaper, and everyone in Creephia has seen her character,
hasn't it?"
